Men versus women!
I notice that the England women's game against Wales is on TV tonight, at the same time as the Chelsea versus PSG game, in the Club World Cup.
The respective viewing figures should be interesting!
Which are you watching, if either?

Re: Men versus women!
Can't believe anyone is watching the men's pointless crap. England women's team are very good.
Can't wait for the PL managers to start complaining about too many games etc.

Re: Men versus women!
Netherlands v France, probably.
Wales will lose and I don't really want to listen to 90+ more minutes of how wonderful England women are after the previous performance. Start danielle vdd. Please. It's like benching Gareth Bale.
Don't care about the other thing, but I suppose I'd like Chelsea to be embarrassed.

The one Curricella is playing in. Not sure if it's the women's or men's game

Must be the women, I've never heard of a male player with that name.

Definitely England, don't give a toss about Chelsea's fortunes, and will care not a jot when their Manager claims their players are tired at the end of September ...

Exactly this. If either clubs whinge about fixture congestion they should be fined £100m.Clarets4me wrote: ↑Sun Jul 13, 2025 7:13 pmDefinitely England, don't give a toss about Chelsea's fortunes, and will care not a jot when their Manager claims their players are tired at the end of September ...

Re: Men versus women!
Can someone explain to me where the funding is coming from for the waste of time that is the CWC? It’s on Channel 5 in the uk, so it’s clearly not coming from TV companies and spectator numbers on the whole have been shocking, yet they’re paying the winners&100m?!

Re: Men versus women!
I think the women’s game as a whole is heading to a bit of a crossroads.
It’s getting pushed hard but the interest just doesn’t seem to be following.
I also think the recent antics with Villa and Chelsea regarding PSR also make a complete mockery of it.
Does anyone think something needs to change to get the interest levels increased?

All usually make substantial losses
Like anything - investment is needed for something to grow
I’m not someone that watches women’s football a lot but just be allowed to opportunity to grow like anything else and I imagine richer and much smarter people that you or eye have a reason to plow money into it

If you drum through the numbers and certain investors in DAZN, it is all Middle Eastern Oil money.

Re: Men versus women!
You can say that with the Euros and World Cup as well. Are the winners really the best in the world? They hold the title until next time.agreenwood wrote: ↑Sun Jul 13, 2025 9:00 pmI don’t doubt it, but if they win the cup, it’ll probably say something about the timing and conditions of the competition. The league will be really strong this year.
Chelsea look good
City have bought well
Liverpool have strengthened
Arsenal have strengthened
That top 4 is incredibly competitive now. That’s before you take into consideration the likes of of Newcastle villa spurs united

Really good game, Chelsea and PSG, definitely both teams are trying to win this, so it must have importance to them both. Overall, even if I don’t agree with the competition, there have been some really good matches.

Re: Men versus women!
I’m late to this discussion but surely the answer is “neither”.
A foregone conclusion with the inevitable winners being lavished with OTT praise or a Saudi-financed vanity project of a corrupt FIFA. No thanks.
Good test match on atm.

Marc Cucurella, (is the player) just in case you were wondering.
