Re: New stand, down at Gawthorpe.
Bit of a weirdly misleading title.

Re: New stand.
It’s so that the rest of the squad can watch the first team train.

It’s to go on the side of the 3G for spectators of the academy games.

Re: New stand.
I’d have preferred something a little bit less black and steely given its beautiful setting in the countryside but well done to the club for continuing to invest in the Academy facilities and training ground generally. Great to see.

Re: New stand.
Looks smart and fulfils it's purpose.
EDIT - I do wish it was 170+ seats though.

Re: New stand.
When we play games on the top pitches , U21s or friendlies for example, dont we generally use the other, grass pitch ?

Re: New stand.
Roof should be sloped the other way to funnel the crowd noise onto the pitch.

Planning statement says this is exclusively for players and staff, but in reality I think it’s for parents watching the younger Academy games/training.

Could this also be a step forward to get the woman’s team back from Leyland?

Re: New stand.
We do. Not allowed to play u21 & u18 league games on an artificial pitch which is where this stand is going.randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 18, 2025 4:50 pmWhen we play games on the top pitches , U21s or friendlies for example, dont we generally use the other, grass pitch ?

Re: New stand.
Why couldn’t they have extended this onto the cricket pitch?
