Premium Memberships
Premium Memberships
Seen that the premium members have bought all the spurs tickets, and most of them are reselling for 100 odd quid on other websites. Needs sorting.

Re: Premium Memberships
“All” the tickets ?
‘Most” of them being resold for £100 ?
Really ?…..or are you embellishing the facts ?
I think any that are being resold - even if it’s a small number should be identified by the club and either their membership cancelled or in the case or hospitality they should be now unable to buy away tickets. Some comms from the club would be useful first to warn people that this is not allowed.

Re: Premium Memberships
It's still a relatively small percentage but this is the Premier League for you. It's a global tourist trade, it'll affect us like any other set of fans. No club seems bothered about it, the tickets still get sold, what's their incentive? The clubs are the biggest touts going too, when it comes to returns.
Re: Premium Memberships
How do you know they aren't season ticket holders?
Re: Premium Memberships
Given it is illegal to resell football tickets I've always wondered how these various sites are still active. I'm assuming they are overseas based or argue that they are not reselling the tickets but just acting as brokers for the actual seller.
It seems to be one of those laws that gets completely ignored.

Re: Premium Memberships
You would think it has to be an overseas site. The club report they are working with Spurs to identify those responsible but I’m not sure how given you have to buy one to identify the seat.aggi wrote: ↑Fri Aug 01, 2025 2:31 pmGiven it is illegal to resell football tickets I've always wondered how these various sites are still active. Re: Premium Memberships
I purchased four Tottenham tickets for myself, my partner and two children. All four of us hold premium memberships but are also season ticket holders. Myself and my partner have over 2000 points but my children two seasons in, don’t.
We decided to go with the premium membership last season and this season as it guarantees us to get four tickets together for all away games regardless of our point totals.
If my maths are correct we only have to do this for another two seasons and all four of us should be up above 2000 points with no need for purchasing further premium memberships.
Not everyone is buying them to resell them.

Re: Premium Memberships
Can't stand premium memberships. Taken me years and thousands to get our family over the 2k barrier. Now...... a few quid does it and puts you further ahead.
Someone can start watching this year and be more valued than a 32 year season ticket holder. Sound.
Looking at my 'fancy' new seat in the new away home section of the CFS I don't think I fancy that, or getting soaked in block 1 of the Longside.

ST holders get a whopping discount on their home tickets, especially Pensioners, and then expect a red carpet rolled out for them...

I was wondering that too
Re: Premium Memberships
Under the new loyalty scheme, I think 5 years of being a season ticket holder gets you close to 2000, sooner if you go to away games. It used to take years and years to build them up, but loyalty changed.mybloodisclaret wrote: ↑Fri Aug 01, 2025 4:17 pmCan't stand premium memberships. That's unfortunate but what's the reference to the red carpet mean?littlemissclaret wrote: ↑Fri Aug 01, 2025 5:08 pm£242 for an Over 65 ST @ £13 a game. Adult walk on (me, 5-10 times a season) is £30. And I’ve got more points than a lot of ST holders, but no ST now as I live 4 hours away, but counts for nothing.

My season ticket arriving would be enough for me, never mind a red carpet.

Yep... I had thousands and thousands on the old system. The kids didn't but we took them to more unfashionable places to top them up.
I try and get to 10 - 14 aways a season.

I've been a season ticket holder for years and years. I travel home and away. I've had the same seat in the CFS for years, next season my view is no where near as good as it was.
No request for a "red carpet".

Re: Premium Memberships
Under the new scheme where season ticket holders get an additional 5 points for attending home games, in 5 years time all season ticket holders will be over the 2000 threshold without attending away games.
Maybe this is the grand plan from Mr Pace, time will tell if the threshold stays the same.
This will make the membership scheme even more advantageous for those looking to attend away games to ensure tickets.Again this may be part of the grand plan
Or is this just the cynic in me

Re: Premium Memberships
I have nothing against the principle of a membership scheme which gives non-season ticket holders a chance to purchase away tickets in a priority window. There are many clarets who don’t live close enough to Burnley to make a season ticket worthwhile. However it seems that this system is open to abuse. If tickets can be resold on a third party ticketing platform then this really is a no-brainer for a ticket tout as I imagine they would be able to resell tickets to the following games for £100+;
Arsenal
Chelsea
Everton
Leeds
Liverpool
Man Utd
Newcastle
Spurs
West Ham
£70 profit per game = £630, which is not a bad return on a £150 investment.

Re: Premium Memberships
As a pensioner myself I have no issue with the club bringing pensioners more into line with the normal public. The club are doing it in stages which again I have no issue with.
I do have a big issue with these club membership schemes putting hard working loyal working class fans at a disadvantage.

Re: Premium Memberships
If you follow this logic then they already do this by giving priority to season ticket holders - season tickets costing a lot more than the premium membership.
Re: Premium Memberships
Haven't seen any evidence to date that tickets are being resold by Premium members. It's just hearsay at the minute.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Sat Aug 02, 2025 10:32 amI have nothing against the principle of a membership scheme which gives non-season ticket holders a chance to purchase away tickets in a priority window. Re: Premium Memberships
I reckon if someone buys a season ticket to go on every home match they should be given priority over other fans in buying away tickets.
Now if someone wants to come up with a better system then please feel free to present it

Re: Premium Memberships
Do you not think a system that allows people who don’t have a season ticket, for whatever reason, an opportunity to attend away matches is a good idea? I suppose their benefit could put them in the same priority bracket as the STH + 2000 points supporters, but charging £150 to not being guaranteed a ticket would be a tough sell.
Re: Premium Memberships
No, they could just email on the ticket. With paper tickets it's much more difficult to do, as they would need to hand over the ticket. If the Club can somehow find out the seat number(s) of tickets which are being sold on, they could then ban the person who originally purchased the ticket from them

Re: Premium Memberships
Sorry, I don’t follow. Elizabeth was suggesting that ‘hard working, working class fans’ are being disadvantaged - intimating that those with less money are being given less chance to buy away tickets. Whereas this is already the case, because people who can afford season tickets have more chance to buy away tickets than those who can’t afford season tickets.

Re: Premium Memberships
Then I would bet a pretty penny that ticket touts are taking advantage of this, and seats going for sale in the away end at Spurs for £100+ shortly after going on sale is evidence of this.
It’s ridiculous in this day and age that there aren’t systems in place to prevent this.

Re: Premium Memberships
I can see your point but not enough to make me change my mind about scrapping the £150 new membership which if done would then neutralise your 'tough sell' problem straight away.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Sat Aug 02, 2025 11:32 amDo you not think a system that allows people who don’t have a season ticket, for whatever reason, an opportunity to attend away matches is a good idea? I can see it being useful for fans living away from the area who can't attend home matches but would like to see us play near their home. I would say maybe they could join the Foundation club which holds back away tickets for both season ticket and no season ticket holders.
Some would argue £150 is not a lot of money but I'm on the side of those who either don't want to or can't pay it.
Can't complete by reply. Phone ringing.
Re: Premium Memberships
It is a complete farce that someone paying £150 gets preferential treatment over someone who pays £500. A system clearly thought up by someone who doesn’t pay for their tickets
Re: Premium Memberships
...and people who don't pay 500 quid also get tickets. There will be loads at spurs with less than 1700 pts, purchased by people who do pay 500 quid

People paying £500 get access to 19 home games. Priority access to away tickets doesn't cost them anything....
