Re: Summer transfer window
He’s had some rough luck with injuries. Pretty much wrecked his loan at Everton last season.
He looked like he’d become a starter at Chelsea following a good loan spell at Southampton.
Could be a player in there and still pretty young.

I’d be happy with Broja. He’s the profile of player I want us to be taking a punt on.

The type we should take a risk on. Good profile to play off up top. Could work if we are his break out club.

I'd be happy with Broja. 6ft3. Rated highly. Could fit with Parker's system like Mitrovic did at Fulham.

Re: Summer transfer window
Far from prolific but if he was he wouldn’t be coming to us, and he’s still only 23 so plenty of room for development.
Worth a chance I think.
Haven’t seen any mention of whether it’s a loan of permanent though.

Broja would be a great signing, especially on a permanent deal. As RV said, it really is time he kicked on.

Would be happy with this. We are never going to be able to afford a ready-made player. Need to take punts on potential top talent and hope it works out.

Re: Summer transfer window
He’s one of those that is definitely worth a punt for a club like us. He’s got the right physicality for what we need. I remember him recently playing for Albania against England under Tuchel. He came off the bench and was bullying our backline (Dan Burn and possibly Maguire). Hes a real handful and needs a permanent move and to stay fit.
Happy with that. We need similar in terms of stature in midfield, but this is a promising signing.

Re: Summer transfer window
Ok so looks like its happening. 2 CM's and a keeper now and it's a pretty perfect window.
Id be ecstatic with the below for next season..

Re: Summer transfer window
A player I always thought needed to have a full season as the first choice striker somewhere to find out if he really was as good as many people said. It seems that opportunity will be with us. So here goes!
Re: Summer transfer window
What sort of fee would we be talking about?
Re: Summer transfer window
I think this is the fourth signing of the summer when the transfer is seemingly all but done before anything comes out in the media.

Re: Summer transfer window
Great work again by our club if true. Great how they kept it quiet. WE could be just the club to revive his career, which would make him a great investment and keep Foster also fired up when needed. A hard man covering the back four like a Phillips of several years ago and a keeper and you start to feel we can put up a major fight against a number of teams in the PL. Starting to get excited now.

Fair chance we've got a bargain here because of his injury record. No way they could get a large fee for him

Reportedly 10m with additional subject to stopping up etc is the rumour, looking on YouTube if he stays fit he has massive potential . Pace two footed , heading ability , strong physical , close ball control.. its genuinely frightening how good this could be.

I reckon all (marketing?) staff at the club now under NDA / told no longer acceptable to leak news. Seems far more controlled these days wrt information flow.

Our market is:
1) Good Championship players who we hope can step up
2) Older Prem players who are on the decline
3) Young Prem players who haven’t quite fulfilled their potential
4) Overseas players who have never proven themselves in a top league
All four come with risk.

There must have been someone, perhaps a player or one of VKs staff that were in there with one of those Belgian journos, because the difference in this window (and last summers) compared to the two prior is a striking.

Re: Summer transfer window
Only a year ago I think Everton were looking at a loan to buy with circa 30m fee so to get him for 10 is a good deal, clearly because of the injuries. We couldn’t cope with him at Southampton a few years ago so if he gets to anywhere near that it could be a great deal.

Big lad and fast. Meets my criteria.
Bit of a risk, but as agreenwood summarises above, we’re not signing a striker that comes without risk.
Let’s hope he’s over his injury troubles.

The one thing that we are always hearing, is how good the group is.
If you have a player with all the attributes but just need a place to bring it out of them on a regular basis, then surely there is no better place to feel at home and wanted than here.

I don't think this looks that bad. Take out the one long term injury and there's no recurring muscle issues in there.

Re: Summer transfer window
Defo a big risk with a 1 in 10 record in the Premier League and without the Southampton spell would be worse.
But has all the attributes we need and if playing as a deeper striker to hold the ball up and bring others into play, it could be acceptable not to score a lot as long as others do.
Taking advantage of Chelsea’s fire sale. A bit of a gamble but the profile I want us to be signing.

A few United staff‘s kids (manager and fitness coach) at my sons school. So talk a bit on a colloquial level. Not trying to name drop, not cool.
But - they really rate Mount. When fit, absolute player, in their eyes.
I really don’t see the rumour, with how they talk about him.

Brilliant signing !!
23 years old loads of room for improvement and played nearly 80 premier league games so knows what its all about.
This is much better than Sargent at half the price and two years younger.

Re: Summer transfer window
For £10m he's a gamble worth taking (personally I'd prefer taking the gamble on Kone from Wycombe), Foster and Flemming are depth and competition in case it doesn't pay off.
He's had a lot of injuries but not really any that are recurring injuries, so maybe it's just bad luck. But there is a bit of concern we're collecting a lot of players with significant recent injury problems, we might get lucky with some but can't see them all staying fit for most of the season.

Re: Summer transfer window
None of us will know the actual fee, just the various pieces of speculation we pick up online. The profile of the player seems like a perfect fit though. He has the physicality, has shown the talent in patches, is young enough to have a increasing value and the hunger to go and prove himself, even if that involves a relegation and a season in the Championship. I'd take a Broja over a Wilson or a Vardy all day long.
