Peter Noble Mural
Peter Noble Mural
Coming down for the game next Saturday, is the mural still on the stadium ?
If not will the memorial garden be accessible.
Cheers in advance

The memorial garden is always accessible.
By mural do you mean the large player photos on the stadium walls? If so they are no longer displayed, I think the chairman had them taken down.

Re: Peter Noble Mural
the question fans should be demanding an answer to is:
‘why aren’t they being put back up?’
they were so popular and a great historic feature…I’ve yet to hear of any fan not wishing their reinstatement!

Not flashy and bright enough for the “club image”

Re: Peter Noble Mural
We received an email from the chairman informing us that they were being returned to their original positions once the painting had been done. They weren’t and all subsequent emails to the chairman were ignored.
It was at a meeting in December 2022 that the Supporters Groups were informed by Russell Ball that they would not be going back on the walls because, he said: “Alan doesn’t like them.”
We offered some alternatives but it was clear that the football club didn’t want them anywhere on their footprint.
An alternative was sought which appeared to be successful but nothing happened I’m afraid and they can no longer be located.

an ideal location would be on the railings facing into the memorial garden.
I’d certainly take one if offered the chance!

Maybe we can get some Espanyol legends put up instead

Perhaps he’d prefer JFK, Eisenhower, Muhammad Ali, etc.,
I find it particularly strange as American sports teams make every use of their history and their love for former stars and their glory.

Re: Peter Noble Mural
At the very least they should have been given to a supporters group, if they’ve been destroyed it’s sacrilegiousclaretblue wrote: ↑Sun Aug 17, 2025 10:49 amthe question fans should be demanding an answer to is:

Being replaced by plaques of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young.
Don’t shoot the messenger!
Although come to think of it I think that’s what happened to Smith

Re: Peter Noble Mural
Peter Noble....probably the greatest footballing player Burnley FC ever had....he could play anywhere. It was a privilege to see him so many times.
Re: Peter Noble Mural
An absolute disgrace what Alan Pace did from day one,I have posted many times,He has no respect whatsoever, for our past players and fans,All he is bothered about is the Future and making money,All the past familys would love to have a picture with their Grandad etc,an ex player whatever,He has taken it away from All Of Us,Sorry It is just how I feel,UTC.

Was only tongue in cheek as it caused a big fuss! I actually agree with those who think it stinks, not only taking them down but the snidey way its been done and lack of consultation with those who sorted them out in the first place.

Re: Peter Noble Mural
Head that they're in a lockup somewhere in Catalonia...
Re: Peter Noble Mural
The chairman’s fair game on here as he’s not liked. He’s got decisions wrong, this being one of them (they should’ve been given away to be used elsewhere), but he’s got a lot right too.
All you can ask is a fair and balanced view and not a partisan bias.
