Peter Noble Mural

Post by Jacka » Sun Aug 17, 2025 9:23 am

Coming down for the game next Saturday, is the mural still on the stadium ?

If not will the memorial garden be accessible.

Cheers in advance

The memorial garden is always accessible.

By mural do you mean the large player photos on the stadium walls? If so they are no longer displayed, I think the chairman had them taken down.

the question fans should be demanding an answer to is:
‘why aren’t they being put back up?’

they were so popular and a great historic feature…I’ve yet to hear of any fan not wishing their reinstatement!

We received an email from the chairman informing us that they were being returned to their original positions once the painting had been done. They weren’t and all subsequent emails to the chairman were ignored.

It was at a meeting in December 2022 that the Supporters Groups were informed by Russell Ball that they would not be going back on the walls because, he said: “Alan doesn’t like them.”

We offered some alternatives but it was clear that the football club didn’t want them anywhere on their footprint.

An alternative was sought which appeared to be successful but nothing happened I’m afraid and they can no longer be located.

an ideal location would be on the railings facing into the memorial garden.
I’d certainly take one if offered the chance!

‘…they can no longer be located…’

do you mean no one knows there whereabouts Tony?
…that’s very disappointing and alarming!

Perhaps he’d prefer JFK, Eisenhower, Muhammad Ali, etc.,
I find it particularly strange as American sports teams make every use of their history and their love for former stars and their glory.

Where are they, is probably a good question.

At the very least they should have been given to a supporters group, if they’ve been destroyed it’s sacrilegious

Being replaced by plaques of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young.

Don’t shoot the messenger!

Although come to think of it I think that’s what happened to Smith

Was only tongue in cheek as it caused a big fuss! I actually agree with those who think it stinks, not only taking them down but the snidey way its been done and lack of consultation with those who sorted them out in the first place.

The chairman’s fair game on here as he’s not liked. He’s got decisions wrong, this being one of them (they should’ve been given away to be used elsewhere), but he’s got a lot right too.

All you can ask is a fair and balanced view and not a partisan bias.
