Cullen was absolutely immense today.

There’s a lot of similarities in him and Parker as a player, albeit Parker was on another level, but I guess he’s a dream for Parker to manage .

Maybe having a solid presence like Big Les alongside him frees him up a bit more?

Outstanding today.

Very much looking forward to seeing Big Les once he’s at full tilt, he was definitely a bit behind the other fitness wise but looks a great addition off that performance .

I thought the balance was good with Ugochukwu, not necessarily because he gave us a physicality defensively, but because Ugochukwu used his body very well to hold the ball and retain possession, which took the pressure off Cullen to always be first receiver. However, as crucial to Cullen's performance was what Hannibal did - he got through a tremendous amount of work pressing ahead of Cullen and Ugochukwu, but he also covered both wide players when they joined Foster - that meant Cullen was rarely dragged into the sorts of wide areas where he was a touch exposed for Spurs' first goal and was able to focus on winning the scrap in front of our back four, and using the ball with his usual composure.

The team gave him the platform and he took full advantage - he was absolutely superb.

Was brilliant today and can hopefully carry that form onwards. Thought he and Ugochukwu played well as a pair.

He’s stepped up with Brownhill moving on. Just watched the highlights - a proper captain’s performance.

The only thing I'd say having watched the highlights is that had Sunderland scored their second big chance after Walker's heavy touch, there'd be fingers pointing at Cullen's failure to track the runner. But other than that he was superb.
