Re: Relegation
Something very significant has to change away from home if we are going to stay up. Even after tonight we have still played 7 home and only 5 away.

Re: Relegation
Our away form is still a worry, but i'm more than happy with the points haul thus far.

Re: Relegation
We're 8 points ahead of both Swansea and Hull with much better goal difference
so it would take a combination of us going on a pretty bad run over the next 10 games or so
with both of them going on pretty decent runs for either of them to overhaul us.
Hull look as if they will put up a fight but Swansea possibly not.
6 points ahead of Sunderland which makes the game against them on Saturday
extremely important especially as we'll have 2 or 3 away games to play to balance up.
A win against Sunderland would put us in a very good position.
A loss would no doubt give them a major boost.
If we can manage 3 points against them then we might only require another 14 or so points
to stay up giving us a total of 37 whereas Sunderland would need 23 or more points.
It's still all to play for but we're in there with a decent chance.
Let's hope we can do it.
It would be a fantastic achievement.

Re: Relegation
Saturdays game is massive. They will be no push over and Defoe will obviously be a threat- he only needs a sniff of goal.
I'm sure someone said that we have only 3 home games in 3 months after that so we need as many points on the table to get through that!!

It's not really time in months, but overall games.Winstonswhite wrote:I'm sure someone said that we have only 3 home games in 3 months after that so we need as many points on the table to get through that!!
SUNDERLAND Man City SOUTHAMPTON Arsenal LEICESTER Watford CHELSEA Hull Swansea Liverpool Sunderland
But in those 4 away games in a row, 3 of them are against relegation rivals, so who knows.
Re: Relegation
Would be fantastic to beat Sunderland and put a 9 point gap between them and ourselves.
They then head into January and lose Kone, Djilobodji, N'Dong and Khazri to the African Cup of Nations. I'd really fancy our chances of finishing above Swansea, Hull and Sunderland then. A defeat and who knows, it's very tight again.

Jan, Feb, March we play at home three times out of 10 league game and a cup tie. Then April 1st we have Spurs visiting.FactualFrank wrote:It's not really time in months, but overall games.

Re: Relegation
A win against Sunderland would certainly cushion the blow of the expected losses to City and Arsenal, that's for sure. In a way it would afford us to lose those with a good chance of picking up more points at home to Southampton and Leicester.

Re: Relegation
Yeah I know, but what I mean is, it's not really time that we should worry about. 3 home games before April 1st sounds worse than when you actually look at the fixtures spread out. One of those weekends is the FA Cup for instance.CombatClaret wrote:Jan, Feb, March we play at home three times out of 10 league game and a cup tie. Then April 1st we have Spurs visiting.

Well done, good call!bartons baggage wrote:I would bet my mortgage on us avoiding relegation.
Dyche will get it right,it may well be ugly at times, but we will survive the drop.
There are at least 3 teams worse than us,and i can't see that changing any time soon.
