Why don’t you sign up to become a referee, once achieved have a go, you might just find it’s a lot more difficult than it looks.

Re: ARTICLE: Barrott to referee at Old Trafford
I've reffed a few times. It is incredibly difficult even in kids football and, more recently, walking football when there is absolutely nothing but pride at stake.
Professional refs have endured a harsh learning curve through junior and non-league games and have to follow strict criteria on what is permissible and what isn't. They are constantly at the mercy of players trying it on or blatantly cheating to influence the game for their team and have only (until they get to the PL) the instant viewpoint they gained for which to make decisions. Often lambasted by both managers after the whistle blows, not to mention the abuse from any supporters.
Once they hit the Premier League EVERY team's fans believe you hate them and are biased against them - even when TV replays prove your decisions were correct!
