Lancs League Sunday
House at Haslingden in what now amounts to a dead rubber.
House win the toss..batting first (obviously) and are 29/1 in the 9th over. Some overs already lost to a rain shower...with more on the way I think

Re: Lancs League Sunday
Whilst the usual crap East Lancashire weather affects all games, what are your views on the ability to watch the game from the comfort of your settee ?
Without a doubt there will be many who are unable to get to certain matches but others might not bother because they can watch it on the TV.
Reduced revenue for clubs etc ?
Are all available to watch on the Telly ?

Re: Lancs League Sunday
Looks like they are attempting to get some cricket on.
Perhaps not.
The bloke with the small lawnmower with a bit of foam rubber is unlikely to dry the pitch in the next few months.
Lawnmower now abandoned !

Covers coming off because it's a bit windy and Umpires setting up the stumps.
Here we go.
For about 8 minutes.

Re: Lancs League Sunday
Not sure about where Tom Walker will be in the future but it's not likely to be as an amateur.
Perhaps needs to reduce his run up, however, he has got some pace.
His biggest addition is that now he can bat. As a middle order player he can get the runs going very quickly.
Good luck to the lad.

Re: Lancs League Sunday
It's looks like it's all go at Bent End.
Their opener and umpires seem a bit confused with him being a left hander. Had no problems with the first over.

Re: Lancs League Sunday
Paddy Martin doesn't allow batters to settle.
He wants the ball in his hand as soon as possible and rushes the opposition into making poor decisions.
Not that he is a bloody good bowler though !

Re: Lancs League Sunday
If he has ambitions of playing at Lancs, he needs to go and play on a really fast and bouncy wicket. A Blackpool or Ormskirk type.Dressinggown wrote: ↑Sun Aug 31, 2025 4:26 pmNot sure about where Tom Walker will be in the future but it's not likely to be as an amateur.

Although I'm sure he will get plenty if pro'ing offers.

Re: Lancs League Sunday
It’s been another long season! Hopefully they manage to get a decent all rounder pro and a couple of the younger lads who’ve gained experience this year push on next season.Buxtonclaret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 31, 2025 5:12 pmI dread looking for the Rawtenstall scorecard these days.
