Buying a home game ticket
I'm a season ticket holder and very rarely have to buy a ticket for home games, but I've had a request from a visiting friend.
So I go into the official site, ticket section, signed into my account. It tells me that the only people who can purchase tickets for any upcoming home games is those with an extra membership scheme.
Is that really the case?

At the minute, unless you have a paid for membership, you can only buy tickets for the Liverpool and Forest games

Re: Buying a home game ticket
Sorry, I was looking specifically for the Forest game.
So you couldn't buy any other tickets without an extra membership then? How did that one get through?
Just out of interest, the Forest game doesn't load up any available tickets for me.

Not that I'm wanting a ticket for it, but when would the Leeds game be available for non-extra members?
Just so I can try and understand it better.

Re: Buying a home game ticket
Pure greed from the club - you cant get a "general sale" ticket until very close to the game, when most of the better seats - or coupled seats are gone

Being able to pay for privilege is a cornerstone of American society, so we shouldn't be surprised.
But I agree, it's a disgrace in a town like Burnley.

According to information on the club site home tickets go on sale 3 weeks before the fixture takes place.dougcollins wrote: ↑Sun Aug 31, 2025 1:40 pmNot that I'm wanting a ticket for it, but when would the Leeds game be available for non-extra members?

Re: Buying a home game ticket
I’ve just tried to purchase a ticket for the Forest game as a STH, assigned it to my name & number and it’s let me progress through to the payment page.dougcollins wrote: ↑Sun Aug 31, 2025 1:37 pmSorry, I was looking specifically for the Forest game.

You do have to do a bit of a search to find a green available seat though

Not only that, but without membership, I can only buy 1 ticket per game.

Re: Buying a home game ticket
I went against my principles and got extra membership so I could get tickets for friends. It really did grind my gears however as a ST holder of many years and a shareholder with a reasonable number of shares.burnley007 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 31, 2025 3:59 pmNot only that, but without membership, I can only buy 1 ticket per game.

This is not an American thing really but I agree it’s a disgrace but this is a Premier League and demand thingdougcollins wrote: ↑Sun Aug 31, 2025 2:13 pmBeing able to pay for privilege is a cornerstone of American society, so we shouldn't be surprised.

Give it 3 seasons in the championship and it would all disappear
Re: Buying a home game ticket
For that exact reason i have boycotted purchasing home tickets this seasonburnley007 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 31, 2025 3:59 pmNot only that, but without membership, I can only buy 1 ticket per game.

Gave up the season ticket due to re-arranged games last season, and the liklihood of there being the same switches this season - i'd prefer to buy 2 or 3 ad hoc game tickets, but not paying for membership for family who would only go on the odd game
And i'm not overly arsed about trying just for the big games - basically any game will do if we are all free to attend
Re: Buying a home game ticket
People in Burnley are buying them though.dougcollins wrote: ↑Sun Aug 31, 2025 2:13 pmBeing able to pay for privilege is a cornerstone of American society, so we shouldn't be surprised.

The big problem is being able to get 4 away tickets, that's just wrong. If 4 people share the £150 its not that much to guarantee tickets.
Re: Buying a home game ticket
You can't get 4 tickets with the £150 Premium membership, only 1. The 4 is for Hospitality Members.

Re: Buying a home game ticket
Its about stopping fans of rival clubs buying tickets or ticketing sites buying them etc
Ticket tourists and all that
We don't have to like it but that's what it's about

Re: Buying a home game ticket
Well that’s me screwed. Was coming over for the Chelsea game, late November, but with the rules above being in play I’ll not bother.
Re: Buying a home game ticket
Why's that? Just buy a £35 membership.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Sun Aug 31, 2025 6:18 pmWell that’s me screwed. Was coming over for the Chelsea game, late November, but with the rules above being in play I’ll not bother.

How many do though?
The whole ticketing system is flawed
Not enough points....buy a membership

Re: Buying a home game ticket
You don't have to pay for a membership but you can only buy home tickets if you have a Clarets Number. You can't just go and buy a handful 'on spec' as it were.burnley007 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 31, 2025 3:59 pmNot only that, but without membership, I can only buy 1 ticket per game.

Re: Buying a home game ticket
I thought so too - didn't see any evidence really yesterday other than Burnley fans but at Spurs there were so many people in there who had no real idea who Burnley were. I saw some bloke on Twitter saying he and his family were there from America (claiming that Burnley were now their new team). But there were others, many of them, from different countries who were clearly not Burnley supporters, all of them getting tickets from what was a smaller allocation than it might have been. The Shire Claret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 31, 2025 8:32 pmThe away end at Spurs vs the Away end at United were 2 different animals

Could they maybe have been players friends/relatives?ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Aug 31, 2025 9:30 pmI thought so too - didn't see any evidence really yesterday other than Burnley fans but at Spurs there were so many people in there who had no real idea who Burnley were.
