25-man squad list

Post by Selby Claret » Mon Sep 01, 2025 8:12 am

Apologies if i've missed it - but does anyone know the PL 25-man squad list and those who are exempt etc? Trying to work out what spaces we have (if any) ahead of today and can't seem to find it anywhere online

Exemptions appear to be Big Les, Weiss, Banel and Agyei only on the basis of being born after 010104
Amdouni and Beyer injured
Which leaves another 27 players on the current squad list - presumably Delcroix and maybe Benson are the two not currently included but i'm speculating

Don't think Obafemi and Churlinov have been given a squad number. Hopefully get them both shifted today.

Churlinov has gone, so it is a start

Yeah i didn't even include them in the numbers

If Luis is in presumably we need a third to be ousted from the list of 28 (with assumed Delcroix and Benson)- Magic Mike.....?

Who's not been included so far? Roberts, Amdouni, Benson , Beyer, Delcroix, Churlinov, Obafemi, Tresor or Banel
I know they're not all fit but is there a chance that Amdouni and Beyer could be left out of the 25 if they're unlikely to play?

Darko and Obafemi already without squad nos. and excluded

According to reports Darko and Obafemi sold/ loaned respectively.

Banel and Agyei can be added to the squad as U21's.

Beyer and Amdoni in various stages of recovery.

Tresor, Benson and Delcroix still need to go.

Massive day for Tresor, Benson and Delcroix. They all need to get away today to get playing time.

Sounds like Ramsey is going out on loan so one of Benson/Tresor may get a reprieve?

Hopefully we are bringing another 10.

Do we need 3 right backs? Walker is going to be first choice so a loan for one of the other 2 surely?

Against Spurs Sonne played alongside Walker in a back 5 and in the other two games he's come on to replace JBL not Walker.

Sonne has been playing right wing ahead of Walker when he has played this season.

What the squad list suggests is that, if Ramsey departs on loan, we're a bit light on players who can play in attacking/creative midfield roles. We'd have one more space in the squad should he go and I'd like to see us introduce real pace on the right side. If we did that, then Sonne might actually be even further down the pecking order.

Sonne, Tchouana, Edwards, Tresor, Benson, Bruun Larsen.
Through the middle you could play Hannibal, Tchouana, Edwards, Laurent, Flemming or even Cullen if Luis and Ugochukwa are behind him.

I'd say we're lighter on the left if anything? Banel, Hannibal, Anthony.

I think JBL generally prefers the left, whilst Foster can also operate there (and for what it is worth, I think that's his best position myself). Hannibal was also more effective there than on the right last season as you say.

If we're going to play this 3-4-2-1/5-2-3 system, you've also got to factor in the fact that Hartman is a natural left wing back. It's the absence of a natural right wing back with pin-your-ears-back pace that I think it the big flaw in our squad right now - given the way we seem to want to play.

Maybe we end up seeing Walker there if we get another CB or the others get fit.

Loum was born 2003 so is good for age. I don’t know if lack of UK academy counts against him.

So if I’m reading the above correctly, we’ve now got a squad of 24 leaving one potential free spot?

If you leave out Bayer and Amdouni we still have 26 plus 4 under 21 on 1/1/25
That 26 includes Tresor and Delcroix
So there is no room for additions and one of the 26 has to be left out of the 25 over 21 on 1/1/25

There aren't any more incomings unless something happens we don't know about. Still think the two you mention will leave while probably Beyer and Amdouni will not be included.

With benson leaving, we only need Delcroix to leave and then not register Beyer and Amdouni and we would be at 25 even with Tresor

The only one in that 25 with a question mark is Tresor which would then leave a spot open in Jan for either Beyer and Amdouni or even potentially a free agent but unlikely to sign a free agent

There could well be a few players being paid up after tonight in order to get them out of their clubs.

Maybe not us signing tbem afterwards but don’t be surprised to see a few players released once all windows are closed

If released AFTER the window has closed they can't sign for anyone until January having been employed by a club following the closure of the window. That's why Leeds and Bamford negotiated the mutual parting of the ways last week to enable him to freely find a new club.

On that list we get to number 17 before we encounter a forward thinking player with genuine creative or goalscoring ability. Of those, only about half are what I would call creative, so we are only talking half a dozen players.

Personally I don’t think we can afford to lose anyone further but suspect we will.

So the list has to be submitted today, right?
Is it likely that a name or two will be left off in anticipation of finding a loan for them (particularly Tresor)? Presumably also, one can add to the list after submission day as long as the 25 rule is not breached (but can’t remove). Eg if there are injured players who you want to give more time before committing, or you fail to place a player on loan.
Will be interesting to see the submitted list in this context.

Actually I think I am wrong above. Can’t add even if fewer than 25 over 21s submitted it would seem. No changes allowed. Tresor, Benson even Delacroix or one of the injured players (Beyer, Amdouni) fighting over a spot (unless there has been a sneaky CB bought in still doing the announcement video).
