I know the club can't do right for doing wrong at times but lets hope its not chucking it down with only the Bob Lord and lower tiers open!

Yeah - due to the low attendances at this stage I think they are just treating it like they do for a u21's game ....clarets1978 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 03, 2025 11:39 amIm a Bob Lord Season Ticket holder. Am I right in thinking that if someone gets there before me tomorrow they can take my seat?

Why do they jump from.one extreme to the other. All stands open to closures of 3 sections around the ground.
Closing the upper tier of the Longside is daft. Just close the Jimmy Mac completely.

I’ve just tried to buy 4 for myself, my partner and two children and it’s telling me I’m trying to purchase more than I’m allowed. Anyone else having the same problem.

Well given that unless you’re in the Bob Lord you stand to get drenched if the weather is crap I’ll wait till the day to decide whether I will go on or not, typical of BFC to consider there fans

Can see Bob Lord selling quickly for this one. Agree they should have opened Longside upper as well.

How dare you use common sense.
This ticketing decision borders on being moronic.

Re: 2025/26: Burnley v Cardiff City – Cup Ticket Information
I think many will do the same, it's like the club create a scenario so it gives them traction further down the line.
The last game had the farcical one day period for season ticket holders to claim their seat, many I spoke to were completely unaware of this and either did miss it or were lucky I messaged them to give them the heads up.
The seats that are available either have a fair amount of restricted/sub standard views, or are the areas of the ground where poor weather is a massive issue.
The best seats in the house are unavailable for sale, what a mind-numbingly stupid decision that is. The fans who attend these fixtures (no matter what round or weather) are the ones they should be looking after the most, or is it that they are taken for granted?

It should read “league cup tie” not “league tie” Tony. Sorry to be pedantic.

Whoever has made this decision has not thought this through and I can only assume that they won’t be sitting in either lower tier. I wonder if the decision was taken to only use the lower tiers and the BL so that it looks like a reasonable attendance on TV.

My memory might be playing tricks, but have we not had games in the past when some stands were shut?Orangebernard wrote: ↑Wed Sep 03, 2025 2:59 pmWhoever has made this decision has not thought this through and I can only assume that they won’t be sitting in either lower tier. Just got 2 for us. Our ST'S are in BL1 but its not open for some reason, so I apologise if i've taken seats of someone who sits in BL2.

Don't think we've ever just had just the Bob Lord (with its limited number of seats) and the two stands open to the elements available. I remember sitting in the Bob Lord for the cup ties in the 2008/09 season but not so sure any since, definitely not in the ten years this site has been running.

As you well know of course we have had games where some of the stands have been closed but again as you know I was questioning the decision to only have the lower tiers of the weather affected stands open. Sometimes you try just to hard to take a contrary view to the popular view.

I asked a genuine question which fortunately somebody else has answered politely

Same here - ST holder in a stand that’s open but BL1 and BL6 are closed…. they really make it hard work.ashtonlongsider wrote: ↑Thu Sep 04, 2025 9:51 amJust got 2 for us. Our ST'S are in BL1 but its not open for some reason, so I apologise if i've taken seats of someone who sits in BL2.

Re: 2025/26: Burnley v Cardiff City – Cup Ticket Information
Just bought 5 tickets for us in the BL. 3 with STs in an unavailable area of the BL and 2 from the Longside upper. No doubt they will be in seats that are normally used by ST holders but the club have taken a stance that your seat isn't your own for this game.ashtonlongsider wrote: ↑Thu Sep 04, 2025 9:51 amJust got 2 for us. Strange decision closing alongside upper where the fans can actually generate a bit of noise .
Re: 2025/26: Burnley v Cardiff City – Cup Ticket Information
Why don't they offer elevated loyalty points for games like this?

I’ve put this argument forward on the Loyalty Points thread. These first team home cup ties used to see attendees rewarded with 10 loyalty points, but now is just 5. I believe 10 is more appropriate.

“Fans” in the Longside Upper like a good whinge don’t they? If theyre not moaning about a longer walk they’re saying they’re not going because they can’t sit there. Then they’ll moan constantly about Loyalty Points.

Why single out fans in one stand for your attack?Winstonswhite wrote: ↑Thu Sep 04, 2025 12:00 pm“Fans” in the Longside Upper like a good whinge don’t they? Re: 2025/26: Burnley v Cardiff City – Cup Ticket Information
I've previously suggested to the Club that attendances for these types of games would be greater if they offered say 50 points but this was knocked back on the basis that then people would just purchase a ticket but then not attend. However, this has been dealt with now by points only being awarded following actual attendance at games. But as you say, the incentive to previously get 10 points has now been diluted to just 5 points!Higham_Claret wrote: ↑Thu Sep 04, 2025 11:47 amI’ve put this argument forward on the Loyalty Points thread. Re: 2025/26: Burnley v Cardiff City – Cup Ticket Information
I think a strong argument can be made for rewarding supporters with 20 loyalty points for attending home cup ties. Currently away fixtures are incentivised at 20 points, presumably to boost take up of ticket sales and subsequent attendance, so why is it different for home cup ties when there’s a similar scenario?
Re: 2025/26: Burnley v Cardiff City – Cup Ticket Information
Paying £15 on a cup ticket and getting for than those paying £40+ league tickets who get 10 is wrong though, right?

Being Season Ticket holders only today, I assumed my seat in the North Stand Lower would be held for me, but of course BFC like to think up new hells for us, and all our three seats are already sold.
So I'll sulk like my NU friends and watch on the TV.
And glare at the people in our seats if I can see them on the telly.
