I have watched us in every division and I’d still say Leon Cort is one of the worst defenders I have seen play for us. And at least some of those back in the 1980s cost us virtually nothing !!

The only reason traff played the first league games was because it took the out of favour Ederson took so long to move.

Clubs at City’s level have more than one top keeper, their schedule is relentless. All prem clubs, even us carry 3 first team keepers.

Donnarumma (sp) has been on the cards for weeks and will shield Traff whilst he continues to develop over the coming seasons, they’ll be plenty of games for both. There’s no surprise or shock for Traff, just suits the narrative and creative minds of a few trying to do him down. He’s only ever going to be 3rd choice at next years World Cup for instance but beyond that who knows.

Very similar if he’d have gone to toon with pope.

I just wish him well and will continually watch his progress from afar.

David eyers is very very happy. Trafford will end up at a mid table prem side but still get England caps. He’s not ready for the top 3 yet. Or maybe ever.

I didn't notice David Eyres in the Bob Lord corporate for either of the Sunderland or Derby games this season. Might just be a coincidence though.

Trafford will get plenty of game time. As has already been said, top clubs want two keepers they can rely on. City have that now, although Trafford still has things to learn. He will develop into a top class keeper in my opinion. He's still a young lad, but he's played a lot of first team football at all levels of the English game. When you compare his career stats to the likes of Pope and Heaton, Trafford is streets ahead. His trajectory is similar to Jordan Pickford. Whether he ends up staying with City is debatable, but he'll very likely be the next England no.1 after Pickford.

Any young keeper needs games. The move to City seemed to make sense financially but he's a young keeper with a growing reputation. I'd have thought he'd benefit more from regular games rather than a few in the cup and/or dead rubber games in Europe.

That's not from the perspective of him staying with us I should add. Good luck to him but I still find it a strange decision from a career development perspective. In terms of being in goal for England he's behind Pickford with Henderson playing regularly. Ramsdale could squeeze into contention if Pope gets injured.

In any case I wish him the best - though I don't see him playing as much as he might have expected.

Regardless of anyone else's opinion, I think he's an excellent goalkeeper who has every chance of getting to the top of his profession.
He has plenty of time on his side.

His futures mapped. Newcastle/Chelsea pushed that plan forward slightly. England on track.

I’m not sure if you personally know James Trafford or not (although I suspect you like to come across as in the know) but if you or he thinks Burnley fans are toxic then you want to stay clear of the Man City messageboards.
