Lowerhouse take on Clitheroe tomorrow at home.

We’ve just announced Salpietro has signed again for 2026.

Outstanding pro who seems to get the club and understands what it's all about, long may the pairing continue

Burnley 3rd XI won the 3rd Team title yesterday.

Second placed in the First Division, Burnley 2nd XI at home today, just 7 points behind Todmorden.

Penultimate weekend of the season - get your cricket whilst you can.

I believe Erasmus has signed a 2 year deal at Burnley, im sure our resident armchair fan will be delighted.

This week's had that end of season feel about it as the temperatures dropped, massively depressing.

Was surprised by his stats for this season (averaging less than 25 with the bat) but he’s clearly been an important addition. It makes a title win even more impressive when the pro hasn’t scored the bulk of the runs.

Had two injuries this year which upset his batting rhythm. We just bowled sides out for fun though, which has helped.

It seems to be fining up a little and the rainfall radar looks promising. I think we'll certainly get back.on. What type of game we get or if we finish is anyone's guess

We've been noticeably more aggressive with the bat too this year. Almost bazball like. Take today...from 3 overs 31/0 . Get the runs on the board. We don't tend to collapse either and have no tail as such.I think the mental side of our game has a lot to do with the pro too. We look a very confident side.
He has brought so much more than just his on field contribution.

Never ceases to amaze me how much faffing about there is once it fines up. Been fine since just after 3 and much walking around with hands in pockets going on. Players and officials looking baffled..Stan in particular isn't looking too happy with the umpires. Ground looks fine and the bit I walked across from the clubhouse whilst slightly damp there was no standing water or anything to concern.

I've watched a lot of cricket this year on a really good summer.
Im always honest, and when I spoke to my mate who manages the 1st team at lowerhouse, he said he was confident we'd win it if we avoided injuries. (I said 3rd)
I thought Hawkes best years were behind him (arguably the best I've seen him this year at times)
To absolutely dominate the league without needing the pros runs & wickets is outstanding.
Never underestimate the influence Salps has on the club, from top to bottom. He sets the standard and long may it continue

Match reports brought to you this week in conjunction with FCBurnleys armchair.

Second Eleven

The Second Eleven game at Rishton was abandoned after Rishton won the toss and reached 12/0 from 4.2 overs before the rain arrived. Despite the washout, Lowerhouse remain 34 points clear at the top of the table.

First Eleven

The First Eleven somehow managed to beat the forecast, starting on time but coming off after 5 overs at 31/0. In a reduced 25-over contest, Lowerhouse won the toss and batted first, posting 149/2. Dan Salpietro top scored with 51* while Jonny Whitehead (44), Ben Heap (25), and Tom Walker (23*) all contributed valuable runs.

In reply, Clitheroe never found momentum. A brilliant catch from Keagan de Vries dismissed their professional, and “golden arm” Toxy Hussain once again proved his worth, taking 3 of the top 4. At 99/6, Hussain bagged his fifth wicket, dominating Clitheroe’s batting from the moment he came on.

With Clitheroe faltering, Dan Salpietro (0/26 off 4 at the time) entered the attack and produced a devastating spell, taking 3 wickets in 4 balls. Clitheroe, 113/9 going into the final over, were bowled out for 118 with Dan claiming the last wicket with 2 balls to spare.

That final wicket also brought up a superb personal milestone – Dan’s 100th Lancashire League wicket for Lowerhouse. Congratulations, Dan!

Lowerhouse are now an astonishing 64 points clear at the top of the Lancashire League with one game remaining.

Since 10 points for a win came in, in 1998, yes.

Accrington were previous highest with us 2nd in 2013 with 55 points.
