Ex-Arsenal youngster and a Chichester City player.

He crashed into the concrete wall in their game last Saturday and suffered a significant brain injury.

He didn’t recover and has sadly passed away at the age of 21.

It’s horrific news.

Football grounds need a serious review of pitch side protection to prevent this occurring again ASAP

At lower league grounds walls close to the pitch are very common and last year or year before I seem to recall a similar incident, thankfully not fatal.

Even in the Premier League it is an issue, maybe no more so than the "drop" on the byeline at Old Trafford

RIP and hope football takes action to prevent such a terrible event occurring again.

Yes, happened at Bath City a couple of years ago, lad ended up in a coma but luckily pulled through.

I know we live in a ‘health and safety gone mad’ world, but having concrete block walls a couple of yards from a pitch where 22 men are sprinting around playing a contact sport does feel like something which could be looked at.

The lad at Bath was Alex Fletcher. He made a comeback but didn’t play long before retiring at 25.
