Rovers unhappy that the rag is commenting on their lack of transfer activity apparently.

Strange. They always appeared to be clearly biased with regards to Burnley and Rovers.

I gave up on the website a long time ago after constantly finding the leading story within the “Burnley” always being about something happening in BlackburnThe Shire Claret wrote: ↑Fri Sep 26, 2025 7:43 pmI mean - one thing that has really suffered in this new world is local reporting

Re: Local Rag banned from Ewood.
What rovers fans read the LET for nice articles about them?
If I was the editor I’d go full on critical about the rovers ownership and management. Really lay into them. Would get far more readers

Re: Local Rag banned from Ewood.
Sounds like trouble at t'mill at Deadwood. I believe Dawn Dunn, who is their Academy Secretary and has been there 31 years, has resigned.

Re: Local Rag banned from Ewood.
Absolute rag, has been for years. Always seemed to be having a little dig at us whilst fawning over them.
Both a pile of shi-te thats seen better days, they deserve each other, so its a bit weird they've had a lovers tiff.

Burnley fans replying to this on the LET Facebook page, are being responded to with “ Rovers, always living rent free in dingles heads”

Local papers used to be the best free advertising the club's could get.

Re: Local Rag banned from Ewood.
Without a doubt that was the case some years ago but local papers are all but gone now. The LT no longer covers Burnley leaving only the Burnley Express which, shall we say, has seen better days.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 11:49 amLocal papers used to be the best free advertising the club's could get.

Re: Local Rag banned from Ewood.
In all honesty, this episode makes them look even more Mickey Mouse than they are. Embarrassing.
Re: Local Rag banned from Ewood.
On the subject of local media, I do believe there's a concerted effort to move things away from local communities and take away the local voice. I believe this will continue unabated until every bit of media we consume will come from Silicon Valley California. Globalism.

Tin pot
Re: Local Rag banned from Ewood.
My Mum and Dad worked at that ‘absolute rag’ pretty much all their working lives. Tony knew my Mum quite well until she passed last year. My Dad took all the Burnley match pictures from the sidelines home and away whilst I was growing up.
Very sad to see the way the LET has gone, nay all local newspapers. Social Media has destroyed them.
When all the local offices closed 25+ years ago, and everyone was moved to Blackburn, they were brandished a ‘Blackburn’ newspaper, but that was never the case. It was always pretty much 50/50 split with both sets of fans.
One of Stans best mates worked at the LET, and quite often Stan and Steve Cotterill would ring the office direct with snippets, or to have a moan at the stories after a game.
Unfortunately the days of the local newspaper having a direct line into the club are long gone, but thats not the fault of anyone working there.
Re: Local Rag banned from Ewood.
I went for an interview there around 21 years ago for the website editor job. The main editor then was a fiery character called Kevin Young. He didn't want to hear what I had to say about the future of digital media. I had a bad vibe when I walked in so wasn't going to tell them what they wanted to hear and needless to say I didn't get the job. Kevin was pushing back against online media, understandably,
Re: Local Rag banned from Ewood.
I find it funny Rovers have banned The LT ... seeing as the LT banned me from posting after A Rovers Troll reported me for a comment I had made about it, and I got banned from The LT

""persistent and wilful underinvestment""
£250m already ploughed into a club with 4,000 adult STH's and still they squeal like so many stuck pigs...

And, just to clarify the above a bit further...
...that equates to more than £60,000 spunked for every adult Blackburn STH...just think about that.

Re: Local Rag banned from Ewood.
You do wonder how bad it has to get from their point of view before dopey Glen brings out his dossier that will bring the Venkys down like he has threatened so many times.
More likely he will start asking for donations to fund any protests, then once the gullible ones have sent him money he will urge them to buy some tennis balls and throw them on the pitch.

Re: Local Rag banned from Ewood.
I like to remind the rovers fans I know that where they are now is not just down to Venkys.
They were a greedy club with greedy arrogant supporters who thought they could continue to live above there means.
They accepted the Venkys with open arms with dreams of again splashing millions and buying there way up the division.
Venkys, new to football and naive in that early time listened to the supporters who felt they should be doing better and playing better football under Allerdyce and moved to replace him.
After that backfired the Venkys withdraw from any more input of anyone connected to the club but by this point the slide had already begun. Venkys have continued to invest in there survival by pumping money in to keep the lights on but still the supporters clamour they are not doing enough.
Venkys have been very good to rovers but let down badly by the supporters.
That'll get hutchy frothing.

Re: Local Rag banned from Ewood.
So true. I remember when the Venkys buyout was announced and the Rovers fans were frothing at the mouth with tales of how wealthy the owners of the company were and how they would soon be back to the levels they found themselves at when Walker threw his hundreds of millions their way. Unfortunately the Venkys were initially poorly advised and it appears somewhat naive in their approach to running a football club and if we are to believe rumours, were unaware the club could be relegated from the riches of the Premier League. It very quickly turned sour for both the owners and the club, the latter departing the Premier League 15 years ago and never coming close to a return, infact finding themselves spending a season in the third tier and the former finding themselves pumping in tens of millions of pounds a season just to keep the club afloat.Conroy92 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 03, 2025 9:07 amI like to remind the rovers fans I know that where they are now is not just down to Venkys.

I can't see what benefit they have in continuing to pour money into the club with little or no hope of seeing any sort of return and the ongoign hostility from the club's ever dwindling fan base. I hope their demise is prolonged, painful, financially ruinous and played out in public whilst their East Lancashire rivals cast a shadow over their tinpot outfit.
