Brentford away

Post by barnseytheclaret » Sun Sep 28, 2025 6:07 pm

Evening.
Sorry if this is a daft question. When is it likely that we'll know the confirmed day and time for the above fixture, please? Thanks in advance!
UTC :)

On a side note - surely it would make sense for the official fixture list for professional football (esp PL and Championship) to have a standard marker - indicating provisional dates and confirmed fixture dates. Make sure it's the same on Sky, BBC, PL, etc - and then nobody is in any doubt whatsoever.

Usually announced 4 weeks in advance, with tickets going on sale 3 weeks in advance.

We were forced to queue for ages as the security faffed about. I worked next door at Kew House School and watched as the Lefo ground was built by Romanian builders.Rail seating but small sections that killed atmosphere. Personally I preferred Griffin Park for its character

Yeah always enjoyed going to Griffin park. The new ground is really soulless, walking round all the apartment blocks to get to the away end.

Griffin Park was a dump but a dump with character. I wouldn’t know where to start describing the new ground but it’s not good and it really is strange, unable to see it from outside.

It once had a pub on all four corners of the ground but at least one of them had closed down when they moved to the new place. I think it was my first visit in 1980/81 when we visited all four.

New ground is terrible for a beer. We ended up going to Tescos and sat with a bottle next to a water feature....

Posher than us we stood outside an off licence near the 2 pubs on the high street drinking cans due to the queues to get in.

Avoid the pubs with the queues and head to the couple of boozers next to/near the river, Waterman's Arms and the Black Dog Beerhouse.
