Re: Have you joined Burnley FC ISA yet?
There were clearly Burnley fans who either didn’t know or were purposely trying their luck who were coming down Ormerod Yard and were being let through the temporary fencing by the Police. Also why was it necessary to park the Sunderland team buses in the middle of the exit route at full time surely their players wouldn’t have been coming out until long after the fans had left the area?

Also, as many people are asking what are these supposed benefits and experience enhancements that I was supposed to have been enjoying today, does anyone actually know?

Not sure that it was the team bus but not the wisest place to park them!Orangebernard wrote: ↑Sat Aug 23, 2025 7:22 pmThere were clearly Burnley fans who either didn’t know or were purposely trying their luck who were coming down Ormerod Yard and were being let through the temporary fencing by the Police. Those were the two Sunderland team coaches parked outside at the final whistle.

Very informative read. Thanks for asking and getting some answers to quite a few contentious issues discussed on this message board and across social media. Keep up the good work.

Just reading the October newsletter. The VAR meeting caught my eye. 200 frames per second and 3 frames often viewed.
Usain Bolt could run 6.2 cm in 1/200 of a second, so if VAR is looking at 3 frames that is a margin of error that is visual. Amazing given those technology limitations that it is not a bigger distance needed to declare someone offside.
At times it feels like clubs and authorities in football do things just to wind up the fans, this being a good example.

Re: Have you joined Burnley FC ISA yet?
You are absolutely correct. I have it on good authority from someone who attended the meeting with PGMO at Turf Moor that the ‘semi-automated’ part of the offside system is the human element that tries to identity the ‘point of contact’ by the passing player. At 200 frames a second the VAR person cannot accurately find that point and has to choose a frame where it most likely occurred, the automated part then determines where the involved players are in relation to each other. Giving players millimetres offside is just nonsense as the point of contact cannot be determined exactly and as you say a sprinting footballer can move 5cm in 1/200 of a second. We’ll just have to wait for FIFA to introduce fully automated offside with chip technology in the ball (the current PL ball doesn’t have it) or alternatively we could go back to a bloke with a flag or allow a margin of error. Currently FIFA state that there will be no margin of error considered with offside technology.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Fri Oct 03, 2025 3:35 pmJust reading the October newsletter.
