Man U have surprised me. Keep scoring as goal difference could come in to it.

Derby equalise against Southampton. That lot back in the bottom 3 as it stands.

Horrid managerial appointment, imo.
They've really lost their way over the past five years or so, Southampton.

Still don’t trust Man Utd to finish the job despite how comfortable they looked in the first half. Has a similar feel to the first half when we played there.

I think more about them being promoted and then dropping. They looked a team that would be like us - if they drop, they go back up.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Sat Oct 04, 2025 3:53 pmHorrid managerial appointment, imo.

Football can be a strange game though. You look at a team like Luton who drop twice after coming up from non-league. You see Southampton as too big a team to not go back up, but they're not making it easy. I'd expect them to be at least playoffs.

Aye, just saying though, back around the mid-late 2010s they were a shoe in for a Pl finish 8th-15th or so and had some cracking players. They've been terribly mismanaged top down.ollieclarets8 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 04, 2025 4:01 pmI think more about them being promoted and then dropping. We beat Sunderland 2-0 and United Beat them 2-0 and we lost to a last minute penalty 3-2 to United
I think this means we are going to win the champions league

But Luca Koleosho scored at Leeds last season and this season he’s at Espanyol
So I think this means we are going to win La Liga in 2029

That's true. One problem. We drew 1-1 against Real Betis and Real Betis play Espanyol tomorrow. The Shire Claret wrote: ↑Sat Oct 04, 2025 5:18 pmBut we lost 3-0 away to spurs and they lost 2-1 at home to Spurs

So makes sense for relegation and La Liga predictions to be delayed.

Re: Today's Football
Because their player was fouled outside the box and after the badge check that is deemed to be an obvious penalty. Never a penalty at the other end. It’s a good one for us but let’s see if we get any pens like that this season. Joke decision as per usual. It’s boringly predictable tbh.

The ball, not a boot!! We going to pretend he didn’t know the difference, he took a chance to get a penalty grabbing his face like he’d been kicked in the head.Holmechapel wrote: ↑Sat Oct 04, 2025 4:10 pmI think if you watch it again you’ll see that the ball hit him in the face,I wouldn’t really say he was cheating.

Re: Today's Football
Nothing much to shout about, very subdued performance by their team so far. They look very sluggish, fortunate it's only 1-0. Need a big infusion of energy H2 if they're to get anything. Slack defending backing off for the goal and Salah having another v quiet game (hope that changes as he's in my fantasy team still).Holmechapel wrote: ↑Sat Oct 04, 2025 6:13 pmScousers only sing when they’re winning ,haven’t heard them tonight.

Re: Today's Football
Won't be long before you can be fouled in the centre circle and, if you've practised your staggering diligently, be awarded a penalty if you make it to the penalty area before tumbling with three broken legs.
Incidentally, how much did that bloke up front for Liverpool cost ? Too much from what I've seen so far.
