Leeds have gotten away with throwing objects at players for years.
Our players have been on the receiving end before but the league took no action.

Couple of years ago they were getting away with racist chanting towards us, standing next to the coppers and doing it without being challenged.
I know we have our fair share of absolute brain dead wallopers, but they abuse the privilege.
I have some good friends who are Leeds fans, and to be honest even they turn into right spankers at the football.

Same, one of my best pals is a Leeds fan and I think the best Leeds fans acknowledge how bad the rest (99.99%) of them are. They have to be the worst fans in the country.

Yep. I mean, we all have them. All clubs have them. But Leeds most definitely have a higher % than other clubs. Their fans overall are terrible.Funkydrummer wrote: ↑Sat Oct 04, 2025 6:46 pmYou can only wonder at the comment at the bottom of that post.

I remember most of our fans being embarrassed by Joey Barton being hit by a bottle of coke thrown by one of our fans, but there were definitely a surprising number who thought it was funny.

Let's not pretend we don't have own fair share of absolute numpties. The Barton example is a good one, and who can forget the idiot who climbed down from the CFS against City last time we were in the PL?

Two years later, when he was part of our promotion team, I presented him with a bottle of coke at the player of the year evening.Procrastinate B wrote: ↑Sat Oct 04, 2025 7:17 pmI remember most of our fans being embarrassed by Joey Barton being hit by a bottle of coke thrown by one of our fans, but there were definitely a surprising number who thought it was funny.

I thought he handled it well in the aftermath, to be fair to him.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Oct 04, 2025 7:43 pmTwo years later, when he was part of our promotion team, I presented him with a bottle of coke at the player of the year evening.

A mendatory drugs test on everyone who went in might sort it.
Not sure there'd be much of a crowd though.

Re: WHY do people chuck things at football grounds ?
There just seems to be less and less deterrent for people acting like a prick.
I’m only in my 40’s but in my day the deterrent against being a prick was a smack in the face.
With my 2025 perspective I’d say it’s good thing we don’t have the threat of violence looming over our shoulder all the time. But I definitely think the increase of anti-social behaviour is linked

That bottle will morph into a lethal hand grenade over the coming years.fidelcastro wrote: ↑Sat Oct 04, 2025 7:20 pmLet's not pretend we don't have own fair share of absolute numpties. It was a small plastic thing which had it struck his head (least sensitive bit in Barton's case) would have barely more impact than a ping pong ball.
Still thrown by a dick admittedly, btw, but doesn't make the event a version of Intifada.

I don’t know, I wouldn’t much like someone to throw a bottle of coke at my head while I was at work.
