Can I ask the Tresor question again?
Where is he and why is not featuring in the matchday squad .
Given that he has been given a squad number and is obviously fit enough to make appearances in the cup games.
Given that when in those cup games he has shown enough creativity to be given at least a bench place for a five minute cameo in a game lIke today when we need to create.
Surely bloody surely someone can say something about what the situation is.
Otherwise what is the point of loaning out for eg Ramsey and Adewumyi????

Re: Can I ask the Tresor question again?
I'm fairly sure we'd have liked to have loaned him out, but for whatever reason we were unable to.
Whose fault that is, I wouldn't like to guess.

Re: Can I ask the Tresor question again?
If Edwards isn't going to be used then we may as well go with Tresor on the bench instead.
Today looked to me like confirmation that Parker isn't wanting to use the creative players this season..he wants to go with size and thinks we are more likely to get goals through direct balls and set pieces when chasing a game.

Possibly/probably- who knows but in that case if you are not going to use him then why include him in the 25 when others could have?fidelcastro wrote: ↑Sun Oct 05, 2025 5:35 pmI'm fairly sure we'd have liked to have loaned him out, but for whatever reason we were unable to.

It just feels like it’s unnecessary drama. We all want the best for him and for him to be a massive success for us, but if he is not fit or unwell or whatever then just say so???

Ramsey/Adewumyi or any one that could play a role if needed.

The fact that Parker gave him a squad number really makes the whole scenario even more confusing.Guller Bull wrote: ↑Sun Oct 05, 2025 5:41 pmPossibly/probably- who knows but in that case if you are not going to use him then why include him in the 25 when others could have?

Is it so the club can give him minutes and put him in the shop window for January?
Is it because Parker genuinely thinks he has a part to play?

Re: Can I ask the Tresor question again?
I genuinely think there may be some strange clause in his contract where we have to pay big cash to Genk if he plays another league game. So he only plays in the cup.

Re: Can I ask the Tresor question again?
in a team with very little creativity it's ******* pathetic that he is not being given a chance. We are giving Broja a chance and I'm 100% sure that Tresor would easily be as effective as he has been.

Re: Can I ask the Tresor question again?
Strong suspicion that Parker doesn't think he's good enough and from what we saw in the Premier League two seasons ago I'm inclined to completely agree. He can't even get in the second string XI.
He has made 3 good cameos against lower league opposition. He's been the only player in those games playing with any urgency and made some handy contributions but it doesn't mean he's anywhere near to being good enough for us.

Re: Can I ask the Tresor question again?
Struggling to understand Tresor’s absence too. I can understand being careful with him, but how the hell do we benefit just not giving him a sniff in the league?
Re: Can I ask the Tresor question again?
That's a pretty sound theory and would explain it, because nothing else can.

Re: Can I ask the Tresor question again?
It does seem like the most sensible theory at this point but it could be slightly short sighted if that's the case. As it is we are unlikely to get any type of fee for him if we sold. However, if we could get him playing then you'd think we'd make back at least some of that money anyway.

Re: Can I ask the Tresor question again?
If, and I still think it's a big if, Parker thought that Tresor would benefit the team, then I don't believe any more money owed to Genk would matter that much.
The most logical explanation is that he just doesn't rate him as highly as the players he himself signed.

Re: Can I ask the Tresor question again?
What if he’s a complete d1ckhead to staff around the training ground, and/or thinks he’s better than everyone, and is not a character Parker wants to build his squad around? This ‘plausible’ reason of paying more money to Genk doesn’t add up when £1m signing Banel was the preferred sub twice in cup games, of which he got 10 minutes against lower league teams. Something from Heaton’s podcast that came out recently, a line where he said the Dyche teams, you could look around the room and know every single person would give absolutely everything for the team on that day. Parker built our success on togetherness last season and perhaps doesn’t see Tresor part of that. For what it’s worth apparently he has been poorly advised and wants to run down his contract - described as a waste of space by said person at the club. To me, the above is the only real thing that makes logical sense.
Re: Can I ask the Tresor question again?
Why play him in the cup games then? Its obvious Parker isn't bothered about the cups but still find it a stretch that you'd play somebody who had an attitude like that.RVclaret wrote: ↑Sun Oct 05, 2025 8:16 pmWhat if he’s a complete d1ckhead to staff around the training ground, and/or thinks he’s better than everyone, and is not a character Parker wants to build his squad around? There's also most of the squad liking his social media posts along with Barnes pushing him to the fans when he created the Derby goal. It's quite clear we are being kept in the dark about something.

Re: Can I ask the Tresor question again?
What you are asking me to believe is that Tresor is putting every player on their arse and banging it into the corner in training but were not playing him becaise we might have to pay a relatively small bonus to some second rate team in Belgium?

I wouldn't use the word complete d1ckhead or ponder on his motives but subsequent to Pace's comments I have thought the only plausible reason is a psychological/attitude problem.RVclaret wrote: ↑Sun Oct 05, 2025 8:16 pmWhat if he’s a complete d1ckhead to staff around the training ground, and/or thinks he’s better than everyone, and is not a character Parker wants to build his squad around? He may have had some kind of injury but no one has been prepared to say what it is and 2 odd years later it seems implausible. He may have had surgery but again unless there was serious complications it doesn't stack up.
In the one game I can really recall seeing him, which was against Chelsea at Turf under VK he pretty much hid for however long he was on for. Go back and look at the goals he is just not busting a gut to stop Sterling scoring.
It's harsh but if you want a discussion and examine what facts we have then I think that is the only conclusion you can come to albeit doesn't mean it's correct.

Re: Can I ask the Tresor question again?
The owners don't exactly come across as financially cautious types. They've spent big money on players, some good, some bad.
If there is a clause that requires additional payment to Genk, I don't think they'd baulk at paying it.

After watching Edwards and Tresor in the cup game, it was blatantly obvious that Tresor had more impact than Edwards.

Re: Can I ask the Tresor question again?
That game has gone from my memory but it looks like he was taken off after an hour.
He made 3 starts and had 13 sub appearances in that season so he was available for 16 games. I don't want to know Tresor particularly because everyone can make their own minds up but it isn't just SP who wasn't impressed.
Like you say, he has has shown in parts that he could be a good player.

If the £18m fee reported is clause heavy it be something like £10m in one more league appearance. People can call the theory nonsense but I’m not seeing a more plausible theory being provided.

Re: Can I ask the Tresor question again?
Thing is with the clause theory, I am not against it, but Tresor has made 16 appearances for us, 3 being starts.
It would be a strange number to say after 17 appearances we'll pay x amount or after 4 league starts.
If the theory is correct then surely the number after appearances or starts would be 5, 10, 15, 20 etc
Unless it is to do with the number of minutes or goal contributions he makes, no idea, but agree it is an extremely strange situation but no doubt with the podcasts going round at the moment when Tresor does eventually leave, which seems inevitable, he'll be released from any contract stipulations with us and will be free to speak about the experience from his point of view (if he chooses to do so).

Which goes back to the original question - why include him in the squad then? There were players like Bauress who would have been worth a place surely over somebody that has no apparent chance of making a PL bench?

See this is where are at. Suggesting a player who isn’t even on our books, and even if he was, wouldn’t be needed to be named in the squad.Guller Bull wrote: ↑Mon Oct 06, 2025 3:45 pmWhich goes back to the original question - why include him in the squad then? Tresor is in the 25 as if there are suddenly injuries to 5 attackers then he’ll be in the matchday squad, simple!

Re: Can I ask the Tresor question again?
Tresor has only featured in the cups and hasn’t even had one appearance in the league since he joined us permanently.
The only logical reason I can think of is if he makes 1 league appearance we owe Genk a lot of money and we are avoiding it. I am basing this on nothing, but I can’t think of any other explanation for him to have been involved in cup games but never in a league game since he became a permanent player. If the real explanation is “he isn’t good enough” then why when he came off the bench in both cup games this season, especially so against Cardiff, did he look a class above everyone else on the pitch? And if he isn’t good enough then why play him in the cups at all? Seems very dodgy this does.

Re: Can I ask the Tresor question again?
Safe to say whatever the reason barring some remarkable turnaround we have been dry powered. It's very odd if you subscribe to the notion that he's been poorly that still doesn't explain why now he's supposedly recovered from this alleged illness & still isn't being selected. I can't think of any other club that would allow that kind of situation to go on. Even if you didn't want him or rate him you would still be putting steps into place to try & advertise him in the shop window but that isn't even happening!
Re: Can I ask the Tresor question again?
The appearances clause theory doesn't stack up, certainly not this season. He'd be a real asset to us as he's the one player we have who seems to be able to pick a pass in the final third. It's not a stretch to suggest that if he were fully fit and playing every week we'd be more of a threat. Why would the club choose to not use his quality if he was available? It's got to be down to attitude surely?
