UEFA & the Super League are in talks to merge & create a new competition:
The TV rights will NOT be sold to TV channels. It will be directly broadcasted to the fans through a new platform like Netflix, either for free or for very cheap. This competition would begin in 2027

It will keep the name UEFA Champions League

It will keep having 36 clubs

The difference is those 36 clubs will now be divided into 2 categories: the top 18 with the highest UEFA ranking, and the bottom 18

The top 18 clubs will only face other clubs from the top 18 in the league phase

The bottom 18 clubs will only face other clubs from the bottom 18 in the league phase

Why can’t the top 18 clubs in europe just break away from Uefa and go and create their own league? Then we can have our old first division back. It would be the best thing to happen to football. They can take all the dirty money with them.
