One of my favourite youtubers. Kinda famous, trying to visit every pub in the country.

This last edition was in our very own BURNLEY!

Give it a watch if you're interested!

I've not got to the end yet but when he did Hebden Bridge, I think he'd done 15 or 17 pubs...

Watched this last night when it popped up as a random recommendation on my YouTube TV app- good watch and nice to see a positive and upbeat perspective from a first time visitor to our fine town.

He didn't visit the 3 pubs up by the Sorting office but by the time he left the Bridge he'd been in 20 odd drinking establishments and had a drink in each so you can't blame him :-)

Wow, what a brilliant video, especially for those of us who haven't done a bar crawl in Burnley for what must be a good 11-12 years now.

A few bars weren't there. Wasn't the Hatter's Craft Bar a bakery/sandwich shop?

The Coal Yard was BB11 when I was last drinking there. The Poker table - wasn't expecting that!
Next door the Penny Black was the post office last time I was there. Love the perfume machine.

All the pubs along from the football ground to the centre look better - especially The Royal Dyche with the beer garden and stadium seats.

Needless to say, that looks a hell of a lot better than 12+ years ago and there seems to be many more options.

Just as well he didn't venture up to the Loom, the lass behind the bar must be charging for a smile. Direct customer focus is not on the list.

We went in Secrets for the 1st time last season having walked past it loads of times and didn't know it was even there. Decent pint of Stella too.

Only noticed it on this occasion due to there being a table outside with people having a pint sat at it, go in most home games for 1 now making way to the ground rather than waiting 10 minutes for a drink under the culvert.

It just shows how many decent spots there are. Never think of many either (and he missed quite a few, not everyone's tea but the Sanctuary and Smacks to name a couple - they are as much pubs as the Big Window imo)

I think there was 1 pub he didn't have a drink in but it looked to be around 20.

I was wondering that. He seemed remarkably coherent at the end given he'd visited 22 places!

Seem to struggle more walking up Manny Rd than the drink and the lightweight only got as far as Inn on the Wharf, good job he wasn't rushing for a train, the bit after the roundabout is where it kicks in after a few :D

Brilliant video showing a variety of our watering holes and there are a number of others that could have featured.

Never knew we still had so many pubs in the centre.
Remember going in most of them back in the day but seems to be so many more now.
How do they all make a living!?

This is what I thought. A decent pub crawl back in the day was 7 or 8. Not 22. Not sure if the one across from Inn on The Wharf is still open - was Hollywood Star I think.

This is really refreshing to see, and somewhat contradicts the narrative around pub culture, venues closing and such like.

Granted it's undeniable pubs in and around Burnley have closed down. The venues showcased in his video however do show there's still a good appetite for pubs and a decent amount of trade to be made.

Given Burnley is one of the most economically deprived areas in the country, it was great to see so many of the pubs/bars busy from the video. Clearly a Friday night is when you'd expect a peak, but nonetheless the atmosphere looked decent in most of them. Plenty to cater for all tastes, too.

With hospitality and pub culture apparently on it's knees, the video surprised me a little bit (but in a good way). I do feel a lot of these micro/craft beer pubs (like Hatters and New Brew-M) are really taking off currently.

Some of the prices too. £2.50 for a pint in one of the venues! Can't grumble with that at all

The guy is visiting Todmorden tomorrow . Isn't there someone on here with a bar/pub in Tod? Could be a good opportunity for some publicity

It’s a great video and, as others have said, uncovered a couple of unknowns for me. The Cork House looked very nice I thought in terms of somewhere you could take a girlfriend/wife. I liked how he tried to be positive about every pub even when ,in some cases, they looked distinctly dubious eg The Dubliner

The guy who has the channel was on You Bet on Saturday evening. He had to recall the name of the pub and where it was from just it's sign (without the wording obviously) He got every single one of them.

Quite a few of those pubs I have never set foot in and a few of those that I have look a lot better than the last time I was in them. The Little White Horse is now a wine bar. The last time I was in there I was served by a topless barmaid

I can empathise with him. I've got to the age where if I'm served by a person who clearly doesn't want to be there, or doesn't appear to want my custom, I go elsewhere. There's certainly plenty of choice provided by those who appreciate your custom.

I do the same in business. If the 'front of the house' is rubbish, then I ponder on whether they will put things right should something go wrong.

The nightlife in Burnley seems to have made a bit of a comeback recently. With the new bars up bank parade, Inn on the Wharf reopening, a few other decent options in town. A decent little crawl under culvert. Can't believe how quiet Colne is compared to a few years ago.

These things go through phases. Halifax was on its arse a few years ago, but now it's a decent day/night out. Same with Tod and Rawtenstall. Look at Whalley - a busy night out at weekends for those who want it banging, but it will enter a phase where it's no longer as popular.

We used to go to Manchester quite a bit for a day/night out, but now we only go into the city centre if we are over there to watch a gig. I think one of the reasons why small towns in our area are doing well is because Manchester city centre developed a reputation as being too heavy with spiced-up street nutters kicking off all over the place.

I think it depends what you are looking for.

If you just want boozers, Burnley is fine.

But in terms of vibrant nightlife id disagree, most places are dead compared to 10 years ago.

Few exceptions, but on the whole a Friday or Saturday night out is a dismal affair

The price of a hotel in Manchester on a weekend can be shocking, especially now with there being 2 large arenas, in addition to the 2 stadiuns, there is usually something or another on which pushes the prices up

Can't help but worry about his health but enjoyed watching that. Burnley looked really good to me having not been out properly in town for years. I'll give it a go next time I'm back. Looks like £20 might cover it too! Amazing prices.

Definitely plenty of more affluent places doing worse.

Price of drinks in some places too. On a par with London now. Paid less for a pint on the South Bank than I did in some bogstandard bar in Manc the other week.
