Hi my friend we are ok but it was very scary as it shook our house but no damage luckily, the bridge is closed going into the city because of damage and over 60 people have lost their lives, we are at our church collecting donations for food for people who were not so fortunate. Are you back in the Philippines yet or still in the UK. It might be a 3rd world country but we all try and help each other in time's like this...

You couldn't have a more resilient people anywhere in the world than the Filipinos.
Earthquakes Super Typhoons Landslides etc etc no matter what life throws at them Filipinos will always help their fellow man woman or child.
It's in their culture and it's the way they are.
I am in the process of selling up here and moving permanently to the Beautiful city of Baguio hopefully any day now
My wife and our family are currently living in Baguio and are waiting for me to return there.
Good luck there Clive. It's a challenge for you and everyone else there.
I will be thinking of You and everyone else there.

Re: Attn of Clive 1960
Hi Clive there was a 4.8 magnitude earthquake today in Baguio at about 10.30am. The epicentre was in nearby La Union.
My wife was lying on the bed in our second floor apartment and she felt it move. And then she went on to our balcony and could see that the hand rails by the steps leading down our apartment block were moving.
Our 10 year old Daughter and all of her classmates left school early as did all the other schoolchildren in the City.
Luckily it didn't last long and from what I can gather no one died and there was not much structural damage.
It just goes to show that when you are in the Philippines you have to be on your guard as you never know when this sort of thing is going to happen.
And praise be to you Clive and your Partner and all of the other people whether they are like you working with your church or just individuals who immediately help others when they have devastating earthquakes like you had there in Cebu where you had the sad loss of lives and the destruction of many people's houses.
Stay safe.

Hi Mel, glad your family are safe and the earthquake didn't cause any damage but like you say you have to be on your guard out here , we are just getting back into the swing of things and fingers crossed we don't have anymore earthquakes. Someone went from our church with others from other churches to deliver the supplies which was great. Take care .mkmel wrote: βThu Oct 09, 2025 5:33 pmHi Clive there was a 4.8 magnitude earthquake today in Baguio at about 10.30am. The epicentre was in nearby La Union.
