The weather forecast for Burnley isn't too bad, sunglasses will be needed on the Longside Upper.

I don't see anything to warrant cancelling the game on Saturday but getting here from Scotland is another matter altogether though

Stay safe mate and don't take any chances!

Cold, sunny and calm on Saturday, perfect footy weather. As JohnMac says, remember your cap for the low sun if you're in the Longside.

Bits of snow forecast on Thursday in Burnley but main chunk is across the midlands and south, no problem at all for the game on Saturday.

I've removed the words 'in doubt' from the thread title. Having that thread on the board is misleading because there is no suggestion that the game could be in doubt and the current weather forecasts suggest there won't be a problem.

Can you not get the train down to avoid the Icy roads? Not a bad journey from Glasgow to Burnley.

Fear not, according to the Daily Express headline today the army are on standby.

Today's Daily Star headlines that football over the weekend faces a complete whiteout with the fixture list completely wiped out by blizzards with temperatures at minus 10.

Harsh wintry conditions from January and a hard Brexit from May.

Whatever next?

Every game is "in doubt". Even if it's a bright sunny morning with no pitch problems, the game may still be called off - an asteroid hitting Burnley, or a couple of dead bodies found buried in the goalmouth, for example. It's just a matter of what constitutes "in doubt" in a sense that's worth reporting, and one dodgy weather forecast out of many more optimistic ones does not (IMHO) qualify.

Just another example of journalists who haven't got a story, so they pretend they have.

I once remember seeing what looked to be Leon Cort's corpse in our penalty area, he then proceeded to move.

Ha ha - I just thought the thread title was seriously misleading. The forecast keeps changing but for now, although we can expect snow beforehand, it is set to be sunny on Saturday.

From what i have seen of the weather forecast (watched it online an hour ago) it looks like we will miss the worst of it. Scotland and the Lakes look like they will have regular wintry showers and gales. The middle bit (the north of England and north Midlands) will have the odd wintry shower but mostly on high ground/over the moors. Further south there is a heavy band of rain moving in that will hit the cold air and they are not sure whether it will turn to snow or not as yet.
Certainly nothing apocalyptic from what i saw. Then again if it is the South/London being hit by it then we can expect the world to be coming to an end. Southern softies.

Do any of these apocalyptic weather scares that are published weekly in Richard Desmond's rags, and almost as frequently from the BBC and the Met Office, ever come true nowadays? They're all terrified of being the next Michael Fish so they over-panic just in case and their predicted storms, tempests and disruption hardly ever materialise.

By the way, I heard Michael Fish saying on the radio today that the 'woman from Wales' who allegedly called the BBC saying there was a hurricane on the way (on October 16th 1987) was 'a white lie'. He said she never called the BBC - he made that up because it made a good talking point for his weather forecast. I thought it wasn't possible for him to appear more of a prat than he did, but he just proved me wrong.
