Re: Luciano Narsingh - Bid made
As exciting as he looks on youtube, would the form of Gudmundsson make it difficult for him to get into the team? We all know that Dyche is a framework kinda guy - would he sacrifice a winger with excellent defensive capabilities (Boyd) to find a berth for an out and out winger (looks like one anyway!) like Narsingh? Would he put the shackles on Gudmundsson and turn him into a `Boyd` or does he see him predominantly as a supplementary striker away from home in a 4-4-1-1? A nice conundrum to have of course!!!!!

Re: Narsingh
The question is, can he the defend as well as what we have already? Probably not.

Bet the same was said about Kante and his stepping stone season playing for relegation favourites Leicester - rest is history !Saxoman wrote:Just looked him up. Why would he leave PSV for Burnley?

Re: Narsingh
Suggested Swansea have him, and have been waiting on Clements' appointment to rubber stamp it - so if we're interested we need to hijack it quick

Re: Narsingh
The Dutch Press are linking him with Galatasaray.
Apparently Paul Clement is aware of his talents having seen him play against Bayern in the Champions League but they haven't made a bid.
No mention of Burnley though.

Reports now saying Swansea virtually a done deal. Suppose still open to be gazumped by anyone until it's official

Re: Narsingh
We should get involved with this. £5m is a decent, calculated 'risk' for a Dutch international winger...
Re: Narsingh
Sounds like a reasonably good buy at 4/5m but looks to be going to Swansea
who are also after a Norwich player Martin Olsson and Tom Carroll from Spurs.
Sounds as if they will be shelling out on a number of players to try and keep themselves up.
Think they and Hull will make a serious push to stay up.
Hope we manage to get some points away at both when we play them late Feb.
early March or we're too far ahead for them to catch us.

Re: Narsingh
If we get to 37 points it won't really matter if they catch us or not.
Re: Narsingh
Let's hope he isn't the difference between relegation and survival for Swansea!!
Re: Narsingh
Or perhaps more importantly, hopefully we have someone that we believe to be a better option lined up.
Re: Narsingh
Swansea are certainly busy at the moment, close to signing Narsingh, Olsson from Norwich and Carroll from Spurs apparently.

At least they haven't plugged the glaring hole when Ashley Williams left.ksrclaret wrote:Swansea are certainly busy at the moment, close to signing Narsingh, Olsson from Norwich and Carroll from Spurs apparently.

Re: Narsingh
Grosicki might be off to Boro.
Narsingh to Swans maybe.
High chance it's going to get a bit tiring as everyone we were first linked to goes elsewhere. Not a having a go just a result of having the shallowest pockets in the league.
Would have hoped our league position and the strong chance of a starting place would go in our favour.

There's time yet....and remember we've had some cracking signings at the death. But I agree...wish were showing some intent. ...even Nixon isn't mentioning us...apart from saying Rovers got more wins

Have we ever actually shown any interest in Narsingh?

Re: Narsingh
There is little point in signing a fast winger as most are too hit and miss for SD and therefore are unikely to get on the pitch. This is because we only win when we score first and if we get in front Arfield and Boyd are SD's preferences to help us defend what we have.
I don't expect us to sign any such player this window, unless JBG's injury is serious. However, one is needed at least for when we go behind imo.
Also, I expect that we will be going to the likes of Hull, Swansea and the other 5 away games that are winnable, to draw in the first instance.

Re: Narsingh
Carroll is reportedly signing for Swansea for £8m and nobody can believe the fee (he spent time on loan at Swansea so they know him).

Re: Narsingh
Must admit (wages depending) Olsson struck me as a player who might suit us. Decent pace, can play up and down the left side.ksrclaret wrote:Swansea are certainly busy at the moment, close to signing Narsingh, Olsson from Norwich and Carroll from Spurs apparently.

Re: Narsingh
Despite the Dutch reporter on WalesOnline saying he almost joined us in late August, it seems unlikely we would be in for him. An out and out winger, a bit inconsistent and with suspect strength though lightening pace. Sounds like he could be bullied out of games, we've done that to far better players than him this season.
Doesn't sound like a Dyche player to me. Dyche must know we need something different away from home on the counter, but I can't see this being it.

Re: Narsingh
So Swansea have got a new manager and up to 3 new "first teamers." The season will be over before they've worked out what their "structure" is, their best XI and how to play together as a team.

Re: Narsingh
I don't know enough about the lad to say whether he would suit us or not, but I would be really galled if we got gazumped by 4mil. As others have said Olson and Caroll can't be any better than what they already have.
Re: Narsingh
Exactly, the players they're supposed to be signing appear to much the same as those already there.
Hopefully Bob Bradley has done enough damage to that club to ensure they go down.
