Our next seasons strips
Our next seasons strips
Is it now the time of year the club is, or should be looking at what the new strip design should look like next season.
It seems that every year people go away on holiday wanting to wear the new seasons shirt, but alas that doesn't happen.
The staff involved in design and buying from a supplier, have plenty of time to now start the ball rolling, that's If they've not already started it. I guess some on here will have the answer to that?.
I suggest our new season away shirt should feature Green and White stripes with Green shorts. A strip we wore around the early 1900s. Unless Norwich get promoted it won't clash with another team. That's unless the Prem League think Red and White stripes, or Black and White stripes clash with it. Or maybe the Black and Amber striped shirt worn around the late 1880s/90s, with Amber shorts.

You want the kit for ya holibobs??? Book it for September.

Adults wearing football shirts is just plain wrong, particularly on holiday. It's a terrible look.

Think we signed a new deal with Puma so with them for some time yet.PremierLeagueClass wrote:Any word on the suppliers? Hoping we don't stick with puma.
As regards next season's kit, if past seasons are anything to go by it will be all but done and dusted now.

It is all done and dusted and was sorted Q4 last year for 17/18 season.
Re: Our next seasons strips
The only feature I'm looking for is Premier League badges on the sleeves!

Re: Our next seasons strips
What happened to those rules where shirts couldn't be changed every season. They did come in for a while didn't they, but assume that was quickly stopped!?

Re: Our next seasons strips
There were no rules but since shirts became more commercial with sponsorship deals then it is better commercially for clubs to change regularly. It's one of the main revenue sources especially lower league clubs

It's already been chosen and we've never at anytime worn Green and White stripes.Bfc wrote:Is it now the time of year the club is, or should be looking at what the new strip design should look like next season.

We even lent it to Southend when their away kit clashed, and they got spanked wearing it too !!

I worked at PUMA teamwear / Genesis Sports for the last 2 years and I can assure you there won't be a green and white striped kit any time soon.

Tired of boring Away kits. This is Santos Laguna's away kit, by Puma (Mexican First Division)
Imagine that with sky blue instead of green. Or a more reddish claret?

To the benefit of everyone else in thr holiday resort they're 'gracing' with their presence, I presume.Bfc wrote:It seems that every year people go away on holiday wanting to wear the new seasons shirt, but alas that doesn't happen.
Why anyone should see a polyester t-shirt advertising a bookie as a holiday essential is beyond me. How little imagination can you have, FFS ?

I can't wear mine in New Mexico. The polyester is just a no no in the heat.
Makes you wonder if they would make a 100% cotton version for casual wear.

Billy Inghams V shirt for me. It'll happen one day
Re: Our next seasons strips
FAO Ralph, I have to hold my hand up and say I appear to be wrong re us having worn Green and White stripes. Having looked back on historical information I hold, it appears the team had worn Blue and White stripes, as shown in a picture of the 1889/90 Lancashire Cup winning team. The team had worn Green shirts before changing to Claret and Blue.

As Garnerssoap mentions earlier, HOME: classic claret top with blue V, white shorts, blue socks. AWAY white top, claret shorts, white socks. (not hard is it).

Re: Our next seasons strips
I was always under the impression that we wore green and white for about 20 years before claret and blue, but not stripes. Before then, red, claret and amber, amber and black, blue and white, black, and even pink I think. I also think we wore blue and claret sleeves at some point, and maybe even white after we originally adopted claret and blue.
Re: Our next seasons strips
We wore a White shirt with Black shorts in the 30s, with an away Blue shirt with Claret sleeves. I cannot recall us ever wearing a Red shirt. I think it was the reserve team who wore Pink and were then known as Burnley Swifts.
In 1886 we played and lost 4-3 to Bolton Wanderers FC at home in front of 9,000 in a friendly game watched by Prince Albert, the first royalty to watch a football match. Burnley were presented with a white shirt which incorporated a Blue sash and bearing the Royal Arms badge on the shirt. As a result of this game, we then became known as the Royalites instead of the Moorites.

Re: Our next seasons strips
The 1930's Sky Blue with Claret sleeves was our home kit - look on historical kits to see them all ... we did play in plain Red for a while they're all on the site just Google it.

Re: Our next seasons strips
Apart from the silly season, all black or all silver, I thought we were in a rotation of white, yellow, blue?
RANT!! a clubs first strip should be set in stone and worn at all available times. Wearing an away shirt just to sell more is diabolical.
