My daughter's entrusted me with task of finding [and paying for no doubt] a photographer

Wouldn't be a problem. She's had quite a few enquiries and jobs in Lancashire off the website.

He is from Blackburn but not a Rovers fan although he was on the Wigan game (with Wigan fans) when they were relegated and found the chicken on the pitch hilarious!

Just make sure the photographer is insured and qualified and you won't go far wrong

Don't rely on someone with a D-SLR and no idea

You should typically be offered full use of all photographs but not the copyright - going market rate is around £795 for a "basic" service - full attendance, no prints or photo book

Not at all, so long as you are organised and ensure that you link in with the Bride and Groom alongside the family it is easy; stress is only there if you are not confident in your and your equipments ability ;)

I remember many years ago being asked to take pictures for a friends wedding.

It was a low key affair at the registry office followed by a small reception at

the Talbot. The stressful part was that I couldn't for the life of me remember

if I'd put a film in my camera :) Fortunately I had.

Save yourself a pocketful of money and don't bother. You'll spend 30 minutes going through them when they arrive and never look at them again

ClaretDavid, it's a question of what the couple want?

Formal or casual?

Hundreds of shots recording every moment from waking to waving off the happy couple, or just a few shots?

Just want a disc of images to print off at home or luxurious, expensive albums (that will probably end up in a cupboard or under the bed).

You can pay a couple of hundred pounds or tens of thousands.

An alternative approach is ask all the guests to take photos on their mobiles or cameras and then select the best of their images.

After seeing some of the prices being asked that's just what I was thinking but
I don't think my daughter will agree. She didn't go for my Gretna Green idea
either :)
