Good player - just not a Premier League player. Not yet anyway. Things might have been different with us if he'd scored early on. Championship is a competitive level as we know (increasingly difficult, in my opinion) and he's doing very well there. Good for him.

Same, doesn't mean I'm going to act like he's world class like some on here have done since he left. There was absolutely no defending Juke on here when he played for us now he doesn't he's all of a sudden a superstar. Every time Juke scores for Birmingham, a thread appears on here, quite embarrassing.bfccrazy wrote:We love Juke scoring against the ba*tards too

Think people just like seeing what our ex players are doing - Just as the "Saturday matches" threads usually have mentions of any ex player scoring/getting a red etc.KRBFC wrote:Same, doesn't mean I'm going to act like he's world class like some on here have done since he left. And when an ex player scores against ba*trds - It'll always bring a smile to my face .... Especially when they're in the position theyre in.

Many Burnley fans supported Juke right up to his transfer. I was at Accrington and the vast majority were routing for him.

You need to qualify your statement so it is a true statement.
He never scored for Burnley is an untruth.
He didn't score for Burnley in a competitive game is the truth.

Can someone tell me why the likes Juke, Sordell, Wallace, Grant etc get so much well wishes as ex clarets when players like Eagles, Edgar and McDonald who gave it all for the club and was part of a glorious few years seem to get hammered by the site editor and his cronies?

He gave his all for a start, was a thoroughly good bloke by all accounts and now a 'cult' figure due to his prowess in friendlies!
I watch out for all ex Clarets, including the three above that unfortunately didn't have the skill/motivation/will to succeed.

Not at all. You're quite right he was a complete and utter failure.
Despite you being absolutely correct and having all the facts to back you you still mamaged to speak falsehood well done.
It was a bit like Juke himself actually
You had the ball in front of an empty net and you hit the post.
All you had to do was include the fact he'd never scored in a competitive match for Burnley and it would have been a triumph - a brilliantly argued and reasoned post - exposing one of Mr. Dyche's many transfer failures (and yes there have been quite a few)
Instead it makes it look as if you can't be bothered to properly argue and reason your case with the use of the many reliable facts there are out there.
Also I think those goals he scored in the pre-season friendlies might be the reason why some defended him for so long - they'd built him up a bit and then thought if things had fallen his way he might have gone on a hot streak (I don't buy that by the way.)
The only reason we bought him was because of Vokes' long term injury.

Re: Juke
I'd say neither ripped up any trees. Edgar had the odd very good game but some very poor ones and his games were few and far between.
I'd say the Juke but that would have been more conclusive if he wasn't injured as much.

I presume it's because S, W, G are doing well in other teams whereas E, E, M aren't. Re: Juke
Edgar cost us pretty much nothing and played nearly 100 games
Juke cost us 7 figures played around 30 games and contributed hardly anything but in the scheme of this message board its Edgar who gets all the criticism despite him being a real popular character in the dressing room (Steven Reid anyone!)

Re: Juke
Haha what rubbish. Edgar played nearly 100 games for us, Kev McD continued to have a good career at Sheff U and Wolves and Eagles played at a much higher level in the years after leaving Burnley than Sordell has done. Until this season Grant has done sweet FABennyD wrote:I presume it's because S, W, G are doing well in other teams whereas E, E, M aren't. It's a foible of Burnley supporters so don't worry about it.
Your post really does prove the point that you just stupidly follow the editorial narrative of the owners of this site and lack any critical intelligence

He also didn't play 32 games for us. He made 32 appearances, some of them for very few minutes. If he'd got the pens he deserved at Leeds and home to Brum things might have been different.

Come on the original thread was just a throwaway comment that Juke scored against the bastards. The thread would have just died an early death had KRBFC not poked the fire. If you dont like it just ignore it but dont pretend KRBFC somehow ruined an interesting topic

Re: Juke
Edgar only played that many games, which included a considerable amount of sub appearances because Howe fancied him, we had no one else and couldn't afford better. Most also in a much much poorer squad. Super Marv was a cheap gamble and McDonald, marv and Edgar dropped one or two leagues.
Again if juke wasn't injured so much and had a titchy bit of luck, be it with pens or a raggy goal it could have been very different.

Re: Juke
So Edgar only played because the manager picked him...shock horror when has that ever happened before!!
The point is Edgar offered much more to Burnley FC than Juke or Sordell ever did but because he was a Coyle signing and the editor of this site is like a jilted 14 year old school girl when it comes to Coyle and Howe the reality is twisted beyond belief and the sheep who make up most of the message board just dutifully follow
