Gray - Our penalty taker.
Gray - Our penalty taker.
Yes, he put that away today but should be taking them?
He opted for 'going down the middle' but it didn't go down the middle.
Andre should be kept to things that don't require much thought.

Re: Gray - Our penalty taker.
I remember his head going astray at Reading and never being confident when he takes them.
But if Sean says it's OK then it's OK.

He's our top scorer.

Does a penalty require much thought?
I always found if I over thought them I messed them up.

Re: Gray - Our penalty taker.
Barnes looked composed v Sunderland but we had a cushion. Gray seems a down the middle man, and they look close calls.
As long as they go in who cares.
I'd have loved it if Tom had stood still and made Sanchez look a kn0b.
Just standing still once a season would put doubt in all opposition players mind, and you will have won half the battle by making them pick a side.

He scored, doesn't matter how cleanly he struck it.

Don't like his posts Sid, it just encourages the c0ck womble.KRBFC wrote:He scored, doesn't matter how cleanly he struck it.

Forcing a player to pick a side increases the keepers chance of saving or the players dragging wide.KRBFC wrote:He scored, doesn't matter how cleanly he struck it.
Keepers and strikers do research on penalties. If a keeper stands still once or twice a season it really puts pressure on the penalty taker.
Also gives them a chance of diving to save a penalty not right in the corner, if they watch the ball.
What's done is done, but a free shot from 12 yards is the best chance to score, it needs the most practice and variations

You're criticising Gray for taking penalties, when he scored the penalty.Diesel wrote:Don't like his posts Sid, it just encourages the c0ck womble.
Doesn't make sense really.

I agree with your point, I said at the time I'd give it Barton or Boyd because they tend to hit a cleaner ball that Gray but he scored so I'm not complaining and slagging him off.MACCA wrote:Forcing a player to pick a side increases the keepers chance of saving or the players dragging wide.

Penalties can be missed by anyone. I like that we alternate. Take a the pressure off a single player. One each per season with our luck!

I think Vokes has scored with all his pens taken, he looks the best of the lot

He made a valid point which I agreed with.Diesel wrote:Don't like his posts Sid, it just encourages the c0ck womble.
He took a penalty that went in, ultimately that's all that matters.
I don't care if he tried to put it down the middle but it wasn't quite there, so long as it went in.
He may never be an expert like Grezza, but who honestly cares so long as they go in?

Going astray at Reading. That was when Robson Kanu decided to go back to his Welsh mining roots and dig up spot causing the missing shot.

Yes I get that, but going forward this leech that clings on to this message board needs crushing.Sidney1st wrote:He made a valid point which I agreed with.

That's your opinion, along with the other insecure loonies who want certain people banned.Diesel wrote:Yes I get that, but going forward this leech that clings on to this message board needs crushing.
Its usually a similar group who want Krbfc and saxo banned

I'm not bothered personally by the existence of KRBFC, they make some amusing posts, but watching the meltdowns about them is ace.
Same with Blue lab, turtle and ABC.
As for telling me not to like their post, that's just bizarre.

Re: Gray - Our penalty taker.
He scored it. What's the big debate? Cech got a full hand to it and it still ripped into the back of the net.
Wasn't there a poster on here said that Gray would not get more than Six goals this Season?

How many has Gray took now? Is it just one he's missed?
