Seen arsenals penalty fir the first time. Regardless of it being offside how us it dangerous play? The arsenal player was bending down to head it.

Can't fault Keown for pointing out the lack of a player on the back post.

Bad one by us.

Bad one by us.
In the first half, for several corners Arsenal played it short, back down the side line and tried to work it across the box. This gave us some trouble as Arsenal were creating 3 v 2 situations. I said at half time that it looked as though Wenger had decided Arsenal couldn't beat Burnley's defence with balls directly into the box.

In second half, we'd no player on the post - Steven Defour was picked out on MOTD near the corner of the penalty area. I'm not certain, but this could have been half-time tactical change in response to first half short corners. Maybe Wenger is very clever - and he'd instructed his team to look for Burnley to make this change and leave the posts unguarded - and that was the time to cross directly into the box.

Think we played well today. No disgrace to lose at Arsenal - but, I would have loved it so much to come away with a point.

It wasn't dangerous play, because dangerous play is an indirect free kick. The penalty was given for a kick.

So why was it given then?

It certainly looked like Defour was coming out to the edge of the box to cut out that short corner routine they were doing. We only had one man (Gray) trying to cut out the short corner which meant they could play it short easily.

In the referee's opinion, Mee kicked the Arsenal man on the head.

the ref has a tough job, the fact remains this one got it totally wrong. Mee was doing his job, watching the ball, and he succeeded. The officials were shocking. Probably not biased, just shocking.
1 point was due, it was a mugging. Terrible for us.
