No news is.......
....good news. Or is it?
I'll admit it I'm getting more and more worried that we are going to fail to bring anyone to the club in this window.
We have had since the last window shut to set out a plan and identify targets. It now seems (and I am probably very wide of the mark) that the plan is to see what is left once everyone else has had a nibble. We are like the person who wanders down to the Boxing Day sales at 4 pm wondering why there is nowt left to buy.
Surely we are not going to rely on what we have? Especially now we have potential long term absences.
Sorry for the negativity. I've got the January blues.
Please cheer me up BFC with a marquee signing.
UTC!

Re: No news is.......
Everyone is in the same boat - excluding loans there have been just 20 players signed by all Premier League clubs so far this window, that's less than one per day on average. Clubs don't want to sell at this stage unless it is someone they are trying to offload or they receive a ridiculous offer.
It is frustrating when it appears we are not making any progress but I'm absolutely certain it won't be through lack of trying on the club's part.
For what it's worth, I'm optimistic we will be bringing in at least one player who will be ready for the starting eleven before the window closes.

Once Brady signs we will all feel better.
Anyone else is a bonus.
I would also like us to grab the bull by the horns, even if it is to buy a player and loan him back ( like a Taylor at Leeds ) it's a chance to steal a march and plan for next season too.

Absolutely doing my head in.....
I'll be happy on the 1st Feb - even if we don't sign anybody - at least I can get on with work without checking back on here every 2 minutes.

January was always going to be a very difficult market for us. It's summer where we came up short, going to need some luck with injuries (and Barton's suspension).

We did not 'come up short'. We signed some good players without breaking the bank it seems.

Norwich have said from the beginning that they will drag out the Brady deal for as long as it takes to get the maximum from a bidding war. I'm sure they'd be happy to wait until Tuesday night although, that would be difficult for us as we've got a game. I just hope we don't end up missing out at the last minute when it's too late to look at other targets.
On January 1st if you'd told me we'd come out of this window with Barton and Brady as two editions I'd have been pretty happy with that (I know we haven't got Brady but I'd like to think there's some truth in that). BUT with Joey facing a potential ban and Marney injured we're in danger of seeing the wheels come off in the second half of the season.
