Anyone heard about this?

A new national competition for European national clubs to be played every two years, between the World Cup and European Cup.

First I've heard about it but apparently discussions have been ongoing for 6 years!

I'm guessing no one told the big league clubs, that'll get in the way of their money making tours which they still insist on having even when the main international tournaments are on.

I've just read it and it sounds like it's more about handing another trophy to the better countries then it is about making anything more competitive.

Yes I've heard of it, been in the pipeline for a while. The idea is to ensure teams play other teams of a similar ranking to themselves.

I'd prefer us to be playing other top 20 nations most fixtures than smashing a group of crap teams then failing at a tournament as soon as we play anyone half decent.

Makes more sense than pointless qualifiers over 24 months. With the Euros extended and when the World Cup gets extended its gonna be even worse.
