Hull will be a lot weaker without him which is the only silver lining

Re: Snodgrass to have medical
We would still need Brady if we signed Snodgrass in my eyes. More of a 2nd striker for me.

I'm not surprised, they'll blow us out of the water with wages and this will be his last big money move.

Re: Snodgrass to have medical
I think the title is a bit misleading. It suggests he's having a medical at Burnley

did you really for one second expect the o/p's first line to say anything other than "At West Ham in the morning" ?FactualFrank wrote:I think the title is a bit misleading. It suggests he's having a medical at Burnley

Re: Snodgrass to have medical
I expected it to say something like "at wst hm in th mrnin" given the identity of the OP.Vegas Claret wrote:did you really for one second expect the o/p's first line to say anything other than "At West Ham in the morning" ?

Once West Ham came in it was obvious we had no chance of competing. We are miles apart in club size.

I think the announcement of the accepted bid was to entice West Ham to make their move. I doubt he was never really wanted a move to Burnley in the first place.

Re: Snodgrass to have medical at West Ham
Paying just a peppercorn rent for the stadium, and with all of the modifications being paid out of the public purse, allows the Hammers to splash out big time on transfer fees and player wages.

No great loss,10 mill for someone whos thirty in Septenber.Hes starred in a poor Hull side and thats about it.Had two rwlegations on his cv already and Hull would have been a third. Not exactly been a huge influence.

I think West Spam are hoping they get rid of Payet in this window, they also have stalled on their Hogan transfer at the moment.

Re: Snodgrass to have medical at West Ham
"West Ham are hoping to complete deals for Hull City star Robert Snodgrass and Brentford striker Scott Hogan before the January transfer window closes on Tuesday.
However, according to the Evening Standard, the £25m double-deal is completely dependent on Marseille meeting West Ham's asking price for Dimitri Payet.
The Hammers have already rejected their £22.5m offer and are holding out for £30m. If and when Payet is sold, a £10m deal for Snodgrass can go ahead while West Ham can also meet the £15m price tag for Hogan."

Re: Snodgrass to have medical at West Ham
Bilic has already said that they won't sell Payet so I guess that deal is off the table.
Re: Snodgrass to have medical at West Ham
I'd be stunned if Payet is still at West Ham after this transfer window
Re: Snodgrass to have medical at West Ham
So the OP was making up that Snodgrass is having a medical Tomorrow? I don't see no link
Re: Snodgrass to have medical at West Ham
Will Payet actually go for £30m? Lots of smoking mirrors to justify everything to both sets of supporters and shareholders. Payet = £20m + lots of if's, ands and buts!

Re: Snodgrass to have medical at West Ham
Good player and would undoubtedly improve us now. But not unduly worried if we dont get him. Unless we sign nobody.
Said the other day. Preference is Grosicki then brady then snodgrass for me.
Even better if we could hound inter not for nagatomo but perisic but thats unlikely.

It's an incestuous business is this transfer rumour lark.Duffer_ wrote:Why are West Ham messing Brentford about over Hogan? Why haven't they done the Snodgrass deal? Just how dependent on the sale of Payet is their business? Are we the insurance policy for Snodgrass in the event of the chain breaking?
Tune in this time next week for the answers.

If the player wanted to he could refuse to come and have talks with burnley if he has his heart set on a move to west ham . Be a foolish thing to do but can he do that ?

It's worth a like - though I'd like it more if the medical was at Burnley.

Re: Snodgrass to have medical at West Ham
Just a few days ago the London Standard was reporting that West Ham had lost interest in signing Robert Snodgrass and would be very unlikely to match the £10m fee being offered by Burnley. See post 156 on the Snodgrass thread.
If the Daily Mail are relying on the London Standard for the inside news they could be well off message.

It's not a medical...he's having his brains tested. Must be mad to want to play at that stadium every couple of weeks.

I can't work out where he'd fit in with us, and he's nowhere near good enough to shoe horn in anywhere. And he did a shocking dive.
Nearly 30, good player in a poor team. I'll be delighted if he goes to West Ham and we sign Robbie Brady.
Win-win

They have Man U, Liverpool and Arsenal in the next month. If they come out of that unscathed, I'll change my tune

He would, in my mind, be a HUGE upgrade on Arfield and would compete with a fit Gudmundsson for the right-hand side role.Guich wrote:I can't work out where he'd fit in with us, and he's nowhere near good enough to shoe horn in anywhere. And he did a shocking dive.

After the awful news about Marney (even though he has been quiet for the last 3 or 4 games by his very own high standards) I really think central midfield needs an extra body + someone with pace on the wing for the away games against the bottom 5 sides.
