Spades herself would never allow it!RalphCoatesComb wrote:FOR ATTENTION OF BUXTON
Given that Spades will be mopping up for a while, are you in a position to select on their behalf ?!
Spot is not that comfortable with it as he feels the long arm of FIFA may descend upon him in future, should he select anything vaguely near to a Direct Hit.
...Still, would give us a good reason to break away from that FIFA cesspit.

So, what is the equitable way to deal with Spades' boiler situation??Redbeard wrote:If you allow Buxton to select on behalf of a direct competitor, mate, you'll have a whole pirate fleet descending on a port near you.![]()

Trust a pirate to show no compassion.
You could sail your ship on my carpets, Redbeard, but I'm not going to allow it. Huh!

I'll go for
F 10
E 9
F 7
re Spades.
I'd let Spot pick if he was Corgi registered?
or how about...
F 9
E 8
F 6
based on mine as a neutral.

Re: ***Spot the Ball - League Action - Another Triple Do***
Fact is, Ralph, that any other competitor's submitting an entry made on her behalf would be akin to the potential scoring of a hat-trick of own goals, and own goals moreover which could impact negatively on every other Spotter in the league.
It simply wouldn't be fair.
Her Maj is just being stubbornly high and mighty as due to her status she likes to be treated as a special case. Yet between you and me I once heard from a distant cousin of the Spades' former binman that Mr Spades described her behaviour in private as 'no better than that of a common Norwich bar-wench'.
It's probably just a jug of ale she's spilled on the carpet.

OK, Ralph, if you insist then I'll do it. I'll have -
F9
E8
F6
I would buy HunterST a pint but I won't have the funds after I've paid for a new boiler. Sob, sob.
BTW, Captain Pugwash, I originally told Ralph that I wouldn't enter this week's STB so how is that wanting to be treated as a special case?

Re: ***Spot the Ball - League Action - Another Triple Do***
Just had a team meeting with Spot the Dog. He said.... "I'm outta here!" He then ran out the back door and was last seen chasing Mrs Wilkinson's cat into Rawtenstall ! (Little Bar Steward!!!)
Thank you for getting us out of a hole here Spades.
Admiral, you have frightened the "living bejezus" out of me and Spot but, we will not get involved in any inter-player squabbles
UTC... Here's to a QPR 1962, rather than a Wimbledon 1975 !!!
Back soon... I have to find Spot !!!

Re: ***Spot the Ball - League Action - Another Triple Do***
Ref has blown for full time and it is safe to say that image 2 had EVERYONE stumped ! It was the diabolical image of the week. It was so bad that me and Spot (or Spot and I) spent hours wading through to find anyone that we could give points to !
So, the results...
Image 1 G10 Lots and lots of points earned here but, only Mr Top Tier and SouthWestClaret, who both scored their first Direct Hits.

Image 2 B3 No one even got close. 5 points were awarded to Mr Top Tier and Buxton. Several others scored 3 points (because there was no Direct Hit)

Image 3 D6 Direct Hit for Sausage only who is on quite a charge at the moment !

No change at the top of the First Division but Aberclaret (Good luck in the FA Cup today by the way) has deposed JellyBelly at the foot of the First Division. Sproggy and Stevie2112 have reached the dizzy heights of the 2nd Division. You'll all be pleased that Spades' boiler misery didn't mean a drop in the table.
Full table update after t'Match when we will be in the draw for the 5th Round
