Nice easy home game, but not Blackburn. The game would be their season and we don't really need the hassle.

Re: 5th round...who do you want
We would hammer them. Not a chance we would lose against anyone championship down. Dyche wouldnt allow it.DAVETHEVICAR wrote:Living in Lincoln I was at the game today as I was for the previous rounds v Oldham And Ipswich
At Sincil Bank they will have a chance against most teams except perhaps Chelsea Arsenal and the two Manchester Clubs
The Cowley brothers have set them up much in the same way Sean has set us up.
Tough team to beat at Sincil Bank

Re: 5th round...who do you want
There were ten changes in that team at Accy.
It was virtually a reserve team.
Played like one, as well.
I'd be happy with Blackburn at home, btw.

Re: 5th round...who do you want
Lincoln at home for me.
Definitely not away. Last time I was there (Some weird pre-season trophy back in the late 60s early 70s) there was a lot of scrapping before the game.
Not any of the top clubs and certainly not them lot from up the road. Too much hassle.

Rovers. I want us to play them with our strongest team and absolutely demolish them. Otherwise I'd quite like us to play Lincoln.

Re: 5th round...who do you want
2 games away from being in the FA Cup semi final!! 2 games away from being in the FA Cup semi final!! I know you old codgers have seen some good times for us but this is without doubt the best period of watching Burnley in my life time!! It's just something I'd never thought I'd see, a team and club that we can be proud of holding its own in the elite league and a chance (draw kindness) of getting to Wembley to watch our little club in an FA Cup semi final! Remember the days of us all getting excited about the 3rd round draw and getting a premier league team at home!?!
Maybe we are a little club but we've got a big heart and a strong jaw, thank you Sean, the players and the board.
PS Lincoln, Oxford or Huddersfield at home then the bastards in the quarter finals (doesn't matter home or away we'll still **** 'em)!

Home tie; don't care who against. Obviously would prefer lower league opponents, but just want it at home.

Re: 5th round...who do you want
IF we are to play Rovers this year please let it be before the semi finals
The transport arrangements for that would be one set of supporters down the M6 and the other down the M1.......

Re: 5th round...who do you want
It would be apt if bastards drew Man U at Old Trafford to enable those good people, the Venkys a chance to recoup some of the vast fortune they have spent subsidising a lost cause.

Re: 5th round...who do you want
Anyone at home.
It has to me moved to Sunday if away for me.
Stupidly booked a comedy night in Manchester on Sat 18th..

Re: 5th round...who do you want
It looks like we've for the opportunity to repeat and improve on the Capital Punishment league cup run: Fulham, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs are all in FAC5.
We could take Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs in rounds 5, 6 and semi, respectively - and then the winners of ManU and ManC in the final. That's how "carlsberg" would do cup winning.
Alternatively, next three rounds: Sutton, Millwall and Fulham - and Oxford in the Final.

If Dyche played a weakened team against Blackburn and lost his rapport with the fans would dissolve rapidly.
All his good work would be undone in an instant.

Re: 5th round...who do you want
Any reason why the cup draw is 24 hours after the last game of the round is finished? Why not draw it after the United game?

Yes Ben Mee head butting the keeper in a offside position, whilst slam dunking the ball into the net in the 99th minute of normal time. The Enclosure wrote:Arsenal at home......bring it on.

Re: 5th round...who do you want
be careful what you wish for. I thought Wimbledon at home in the seventies was a bye to the 5th round. We never recovered and were relegated little more than a year later
