Fraser Dainton has just tweeted a photo of Westwood arriving at Turf Moor.
Looks done and dusted, still no clue whether this is permanent or not though.

Happy with this given the Marney situation, solid Dyche player.

Also for those who do not know, Fraser Dainton is the Sky Sports reporter who has been assigned to BFC today and has been at the turf all morning.

He'll do for me, he is a younger version of Marney, happy with this when done, need the Irish lad to get on a fast jet or train from Noooorich and get Medical done and dusted, then we are Reight.

Yes but sky aren't allowed to show it, he was seen urinating on a Rovers shirt outside the James Hargreaves Stand.Saxoman wrote:Any pictures of Robbie Brady in Burnley?

Amazing really, no photos at all, yet clarettony knows he's there, like he knew Lansbury was there, with no evidence other than his word. Hmm..

I'm told £2.5m fee. Maybe there are add ons to that based on performance, but that's the number I have heard.

Comment from a Villa fan I know I presume what you're missing is someone to provide a telling 10 metre sideways pass?.
Sounds like he's been brought in to replace Jones ...

On the whole, I never take much notice on how the selling team supporters rate their player. I never rated Jack Cork, but most on hear used to rave about him.

So it sounds like he's come in as 4th choice backup, similar to Bamford was on loan. In all likelihood he won't feature much, but it's always good to have someone there just in case.

Just spoke to a Villa pal of mine and he says without doubt a talented player but very low on confidence and wanted out for a while now.
Villa fans once thought he would captain England !
Dyche WILL bring that good player out

Sounds just like Dean Marneyclaretspice wrote:Having read the Birmingham Mail article, it looks as though he's a player who doesn't seek the limelight, follows instructions, works hard, keeps the game simple and does the basics very well indeed. Also has a little bit of technical quality as well.
Or to put it another way, a Sean Dyche-type midfielder.

Averaged 30 appearances a season during their last 4 years in the PL, 23 appearances this season and scored a handful of goals over 5 years.
They only want a small amount for him though??

If you read some of the comments from Villa fans (Mostly sour grapes TBH) I cannot understand how this player has played so many games for them, as he sounds absolutely hopeless

Let's welcome the lad to Burnley and not start slagging him off before he's even played. If Sean thinks he has potential, that's good enough for me!MiltonKeynesClaret93 wrote:Yeah alright then.

Re: Ashley Westwood £5m bid accepted
The fans I know excused him a bit for the past few seasons as he appeared to be putting the effort in and expected him to kick on this year and be impressive in the Championship but it seems he hasn't been particularly.

Re: Ashley Westwood £5m bid accepted
decent signing this, he gives us another option in midfield, slightly different to what we've already got.
the type of tidy player who recycles the ball well and can let the likes of defour push on and make things happen.
up to him to make the most of the opportunity.

120 PL appearances in 4 years at Villa and 23 appearances this season for them so far.....
Yet he's not good enough?
Sounds like the same sort of stuff said about David Jones by some people.

Re: Ashley Westwood £5m bid accepted
David Jones played 87 games over two Championship seasons in which we finished 2nd and 1st. Anyone trying to make out he was a bad signing is an idiot. IMO.Right_winger wrote:Yep pretty similar to Jones then.

If Westwood is like Jones, but with a bit more Premier class, what's the problem? Sounds like a good signing.
Re: Ashley Westwood £5m bid accepted
Sometimes it works for a player at a club and sometimes it doesn't. We've seen that with Arfield. Stupid to write him off based on his current teams supporters. Smart of the club to get in additional cover in the middle, especially when that cover has solid Premier League experience.
