CFS stewarding last night

Post by Inchy » Wed Feb 01, 2017 9:07 am

Usually in the CFS there are stewards everywhere. Most of the time they are checking tickets, telling people to sit down, and generally getting in the way of the view. However last night they seemed to take a different approach. The only stewards were at the entrance and the divide between home and away fans. I didn't see one steward walking up and down the steps as usual. Normally there are two or three constantly talking to people down the JHS side where I usually sit.

This less full on approach seemed to work as there was no bother at all. Sometimes I think stewards end up causing more frustration and anger than they prevent.

I hope they continue this approach

Noticed that too.

Showed my ticket at the turnstile and that was it, and guess what I still got to my seat.... Unbelievable!

Hats off to who ever has listened/acted on what was becoming an unecessary issue each game.

I'm usually the first to bing up the problems in the CFS re stewrding but last night was a different approach and it was much appreciated by a good number of people around me ... And myself.

Well done to whoever acted on it and changed the strategies.

I would hope that, if the club have any sense, that somebody in the media department has read out the other post on this website about the over-zealous clowns dressed as stewards and in particular the obnoxious redhead steward and severely bollocked them.

There will (probably) be no admission of a change of strategy in there. That would be an admission that someone got it wrong in the first place.

I'm in block 22 (took the offer of a seat swap from block 16-view is tremendous) so I turn left at the gangway towards the away fans. My ticket was checked before I was allowed to proceed along the gangway, and again at half time. Stewards in every three gangways, but actually in the seat gangway as opposed to actually blocking the entrance/exit gangway.

Less provocative I thought, and the softly softly approach can work wonders.

Well done the stewards.

Even the ginger woman had a sense of humour last night.
