Re: Sin bins
Answering back to the referee, 5 or 10 mins every time. Problem solved.

The big clubs wouldn't have any players left to complete the matchHatfieldClaret wrote:Answering back to the referee, 5 or 10 mins every time. Problem solved.

Re: Sin bins
Potentially an excellent idea. But you might find fewer yellows given out and actually it exacerbating the problem
Re: Sin bins
Id have all sending offs go in a sin bin whilst the decision is reviewed. If the correct division was made he stays off if not he's allowed back on.
Can the officials be sin binned too?

But what if it was Pawson refereeing Dean.....Dyched wrote:Thats git me thinking.

We'd need another one to referee bothnof them!
Re: Sin bins
I hope not, to me it will spoil the game, too many interruptions. Would it then have a knock on effect with Linesman constantly getting ear ache from some Managers. I think Mr Dyche might struggle in this department.

Re: Sin bins
Do the carded players take turns in the sin bin or could you end up with half your squad in there at the same time?

Re: Sin bins
For back chat to the officials only, then I'd be up for it. The captain should be able to speak to the ref, no-one else.
And the sooner physios are allowed onto pitch whilst play continues, the better. That'd instantly stop all the cheating and claiming you're hurt.

Re: Sin bins
Personally my thoughts are that a sin bin could be used in a couple of circumstances.
1) 2nd yellow card = 15 minute sin bin (3 = red)
2) some red card offences could be downgraded to a 15 minute sin bin also such as swearing at the ref or denying a goal scoring opportunity which would leave the straight red card for dangerous play, violent conduct and spitting at an opponent.

Lets just have 11 on the pitch.bfccrazy wrote:But what if it was Pawson refereeing Dean.....

Seriously though. Give the ref a microphone like in rugby.
Something has got to change. Rodwell gets a booking for that 'tackle' last night the same as a player gets for celebrating. If we're booking players for celebrating the Klopp should have been sent off after his reaction after the Chelsea penalty miss.

Re: Sin bins
I would like them introduced..missing a player for 10/15 minutes [loudmouths and dirty players..time-wasters] would make a difference in some matches..it would improve behaviour. It works well in rugby union...worth a try.
- the big problem with yellow cards is that the player's punishment [a match(es) ban ] tales place later which benefits other clubs, not the club in the match where the offence occurred. That isn't right.
