Dan Agyei
Given that he has stayed with us and Bamford has gone back along with Long on loan, is it likely he is to be our fourth striker?
Although a few suggest he is not yet ready, would presume he is ahead of Massanka?
If one of Barnes, Grey or Vokes ends up injured or suspended would we revert to 451 with Hendrick just off or stick with 2 and have him on the bench?
Personally would like to see him get a chance in games where it makes sense. Either where we have won the game, in the cup against Lincoln at some stage or even if we reach 40 points soon.
Games at this leevl whilst they wont be easy will give him confidence - if he gets a goal great. But hopefully we can blood him with no pressure.
Scored an incredible goal for Coventry, had a decent return for them and in a better side should do better - look at Barton. Looked a handful in pre season too, granted thats a different measure altogether.

We have other options for a number 10 role if we lose 2 strikers. Brady, Boyd etc. We have played 1 up top a few times now.

Hope he gets some time. Its vital that he gets experience of some sort.

Massanka is out on loan in any case. I wouldn't say either are ready or anywhere near from what I've seen of them.cricketfieldclarets wrote:Although a few suggest he is not yet ready, would presume he is ahead of Massanka?

Re: Dan Agyei
Big step up from scoring against inexperienced kids in pointless development squad games to playing against some of the best defenders in the world in the Premier League.
I haven't seen too much of either but when I have, I agree with CT that they look nowhere near ready for our first team squad (although Agyei would be the slightly nearer of the two for me, due mainly to his bigger physical presence).
Another loan would have been good for him, shame he couldn't get one.

Re: Dan Agyei
Loans are great for players, but having gone out and had a loan at Coventry and no doubt learned plenty, it probably isn't a bad idea for him to come back in house and work with our players and coaches on a day to day basis. Apart from mking him feel part of the club, which is of underrated importance, it should also help him get familiar with the way we play, which will ease his transition in due course.
It should also help his development - going up against Michael Keane every day, having Joey Barton and Steven Defour showing where they want the run made to, etc. - all these things can get him ready for the step up to the Premier League in their own way, and he'll get as much from this as a loan, potentially. They aren't the whole answer.

Re: Dan Agyei
I think there was talk of him going to Brentford but then Hogan didn't leave until late yesterday.
I saw Agyei play for Coventry against Fleetwood and thought he looked ok. Strong and pretty quick for his size and had a couple of good efforts. Not saying he is developed enough to play first team for us yet but a cameo or two may be good.
Then again, I don't see that happening when we have Gray, Barnes and Vokes in the match day squad. And Sean could also use any of Boyd, Arfield, Hendricks and now even Brady in a more forward role.

Put him in the Swansea team and you wouldn't see him again.

England qualify most times and with the bigger numbers now qualifying should be at the next three.
