1. Finishing the season in mid-table.
2. Winning the FA Cup.
3. Blackburn demoted to League 1.

Wonder what the odds will be on all 3 happening - might be worth a fiver

If we win the FA Cup, and if (its still an if!!!) we stay up, then I'd be concerned about the effect of Europa League on our League form.
Edit - but it'd be a nice problem to have!

You just concentrate on the league, simples.
Or treat Europe as a day out.
Play the reserves and insist our league games are played on a Saturday.

Unless we are paired with Norwegian amateurs. We have to win that one.

1. Finishing the season in mid-table?
Staying up is the first priority but a mid table or above finish would net us another 10m or so
2. Winning the FA Cup?
Don't really think so and certainly not at the expense of staying up or a mid-table position.
3. Blackburn demoted to League 1.
More than likely the way they are playing.

I was thinking about that too box_of_frogs, 6 extra games before Christmas could be seen as a burden BUT in the Championship we'd have played 5 league games more and we have a bigger squad now. It would give SD the opportunity to rotate players and keep more players happy. Of course we'd have the fatigue to manage after away games on a Thursday night.
Like you say, it would be a nice problem to have.

Would have thought an accumulator like that would be more like 2000/1

Not the sort of odds I'd bother with. 1000/1 would be tempting though.

1973, 1974, 1982, 2000, 2009, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017 could be... 1974 would have been if we'd beaten Liverpool to win the F.A. Cup and at the old Wembley when the cup really mattered more than it does now.

1 Staying in the league. 1987. The catalyst for the fans to get back to the club.
2 Jimmy Mullens claret and blue army.
Had some great seasons after with Stan and Coyle (won't go into the shite with him).
The last 3 seasons have been outstanding and really can't be bettered in recent history.
Considering, was in the Bob Lord Stand after one of the most depressing seasons ever to scrape survival and then to be at York for one of the eventual best seasons to finally get out of the bottom division.
To be on the Turf sat at the top of the JHU at the moment is well fabulous.
Great memories with some great mates at a great club.

I'll try a tenner at that price. Who gave those odds? Can anyone better it.

Was thinking about 1973/74 after the cup draw paired us with Lincoln. We'd been 2nd division champions the previous season. Got some good fortune in terms of who we drew out of the hat and got to the semi-finals of the FA Cup - finished 6th in the 1st division.
We're not going to quite hit some of those heights but this is the best it's been since then.

Genuine question - would you prefer Blackburn to be relegated and fade into obscurity or would you grant them one good season so that you could play them twice a year?

I'd like to see them go all the way to the bottom of the leagues, like BFC did not so long back. I'm sure their fans were not sympathetic!

As OP, I am a bit worried now so many of you have placed bets. Winning the FA Cup is the least likely, so not so bad if we don't see all 3 achieved.

Aye we got to the semi final playing and beating teams out of the top division then newcastle beat us!! The only top side we played.

Crikey, if we stayed up, won the FA Cup and Rovers got relegated, that would be the best year ever.
