Premier Leagues most Forgettable Team
If you are feeling a bit bored today and have about 10 minutes to spare, try this at home. Get a piece of paper and write down the numbers 1 through to 20. Next from memory alone write down all names of the current teams in the Premier League. My guess is you will quickly get about 16. You will then slow down and get another 3, leaving just one left that really takes some remembering. Therefore this team must be your most forgettable team in the Premier League. I did it myself today and so did both my grandkids. Amazingly two of us came up the same 20th team. I'll put our final teams in the following post.

Two of us both came up with Leicester City and one came up with Swansea City as the 20th team.

I forgot WBA.
I got to 17 teams quite quickly, then remembered two more after some thinking.
Stoke and West Ham were 18 & 19 respectively.

Middlesboro and West Ham, I got reading this thread, by accident. I got to 19 but couldn't think who I had left out. I eventually went to the BBC and had to tick the clubs off, one by one till I got to the very bottom; Sunderland. I even went to college there.

Watford for me.
I tried doing it for League One, and Blackburn Rovers were the first team I thought of. How good is that? A time of minus three months!

Re: Premier Leagues most Forgettable Team
Try listing teams who have EVER played PL football (i.e. since 1992) That's brilliant as there are some obscure surprises which the younger end in particular will struggle with (without looking them up!)
Re: Premier Leagues most Forgettable Team
For a long while, I could remember the result of every game and the goalscorers from our first season in the premier league in 1992.

Swindon, Oldham Barnsley, Coventry, wimbledon and Bradford are probably what 'new' fans would see as obscure and hardest to guess. To be fair its hard to imagine any of them there now. Coventry were a very stable club there too!Dark Cloud wrote:Try listing teams who have EVER played PL football (i.e. since 1992) That's brilliant as there are some obscure surprises which the younger end in particular will struggle with (without looking them up!)

Re: Premier Leagues most Forgettable Team
West Brom - seems appropriate somehow. Leicester weren't prominent in my list either. Strange after all their hype.
Re: Premier Leagues most Forgettable Team
I've tried out this game in the pub tonight, of the five blokes who had a go and who knew football, none were successful. It's one of those tricks where they show you four urinals and everyone pisses in number 3.
Re: Premier Leagues most Forgettable Team
In fact the Man U fan couldn't get one club... It was Leicester who they'd just beaten 3-0 and who he was talking about in the pub, as after-match talk!

Middlesbrough - with Stoke a close second. Must be something to do with their similarly anonymous Mechano stadiums.

And Cardiff regularly slip through the net too.

Did those who chose Watford think Saturday was a cup match or are you just really, really forgetful?

Bournemouth was the one I got last. Didn't take longer than about 2-3 minutes to get the whole lot. Gonna try and get the Championship before I leave the comfort of this bathroom.

Re: Premier Leagues most Forgettable Team
Just looking at your table there, Dyched, it's amazing the number of knockabout teams in the top tier- just shows us where a rich owner can get you!
It may be a controversial decision, but I would gladly trade teams such as Bournemouth, Watford, Hull and Swansea with Newcastle, Wolves, Villa and (here's the controversy) Leeds.

West Ham were bottom for me.
Got to 18 in double-quick time then took a while to get Bournemouth then an embarrassingly long time to get the Hammers.
