I thought Charlie Austin got it spot on when he scored twice for Southampton against us. Asked why he chose to celebrate the goals he said:"I don't play for Burnley no more."

I don't really see any reason not to celebrate a goal and the supporters of the team you are playing for would expect it.

Well the reason for not celebrating would be if it was 'your team' that you had just scored against. Kightly is obviously Wolves and Jay Rod is Burnley - his own home town team. Business but not pleasure. Otherwise, yes any team other than 'your team', go for it.

Really pleased for Kights,said he was living out of a suitcase last 4 years,now only nineteen miles away from home and family at Burton,always gave everything for us,had some great games and scored some vital goals when given the chance,never moaned or complained at all,All the Best Kights,you did us proud!UTC.

Has he been offered a contract by them? I like Kightly, and always felt he offered more attacking threat than one or two others due to him being more direct. His final ball found wanting a bit which is probably why Dyche often for less attack minded players who did better work elsewhere in witching the game plan.

There were times when we were crying out for a change out wide and I wish he'd been given more of a go at those times, but you can't argue with our performances overall, so he's probably been a tad unlucky.

I really wish the lad well, because like you say, he hasn't been a moments trouble and has just had his head down and worked hard. I hope he helps keep Burton up.

Lots of respect for Kights. Some great goals for us and was always fit and ready to go when required and never moaned when he was pushed back onto the bench, or even off it. Agree that he could be playing a higher level than Burton, but maybe it's a great match for him, playing for Clough, close to home and being the big fish in a smaller pond. Maybe he can help them push further up the league. Anywhere above Blackburn is a bonus!

In an age where players (largely via their agents) hit the papers to complain about lack of opportunity / homesickness / wanting a move away / handing in transfer requests / even sulking because they don't get a birthday cake, Kightly behaved like a consummate professional throughout and was always on hand when needed without any drama.

I wish him the very best of luck at Burton Albion and hope he helps keep them up.

I thought he was an Essex boy though so not sure why playing for Burton would be any different, nor would I imagine he has lived out of a suitcase for four years?

Most players live in South Manchester which is probably a similar distance between Burnley as it is Burton.

(Besides most of us have to work and live away from home if we are career minded.)

If the rumours are correct that Ipswich wanted him but couldn't afford his wages I'd be very surprised if Burton can. Hopefully they stay up and can come to some sort of agreement with him

I'd have suspected we're paying a chunk of his wages, or all of them, but they could be paying us a loan fee?

They want and need to stay up as they get around £5.1m in Sky TV so,idarity payments in the Championship, and it drops dramatically in the third tier, so possibly worth the risk for them. He will get a few goals and likely set up a few too. Isn't that ex-Leicester winger who came to Burnley there this season too? That's a decent set of wingers they've got now if that's the case.

Had a great season in our first promotion. He the signed up as we got into the PL but got injured in pre-season and struggled to get his place back. My Wolves friend says he was awesome soon after signing for Wolves. He deserves the very best fortunes now

People often relocate, it doesn't matter where he was born. Home isn't always where you were born.

I know. I dont live where i was born. Thats why i was confused as to why he would be living out of a suitcase when hes been here for four years. Burtons hardly the other side of the country so presuming he lived where most north west footballers live burtons not much closer if at all.

Im guessing when he moved to wolves and then stoke he settled and moved somewhere like lichfield. Its not exactly the other side of the world though.
