So that will be fourth then. Well done Tom. Fairly accurate for me.

Sky aren't ranking them though, the public are as they can just select up or down. This basically equates to clubs with more fans having more of a say in where each keeper finishes.

Tom is currently ranked 5th.

Joe Hart is ranked 10th best in the Premier League. So why isn't Gordon Banks on the list?

Fraser Forster (even his own fans think he is crap), Butland (out injured) and Lloris too highly rated but our Tom ,Schmeichel, Ben Foster and even Lee Grant are under-rated. Heaton definitely the best English keeper at the moment if Hart is ruled out by being abroad. His one handed save on Saturday was fabulous.

Heatons been has good as anyone, would not swop him for anyone either. The other keepers are more high profile names.Chelsea would still walk league with Heaton in net.To get to number one ranked he would have to throw a few 'scorpion' saves in like the Colombian at Wembley.

Yep.… He's having a wonderful season, but it wasn't a good header and he should have got a much stronger hand to the ball on Saturday… Likewise at Arsenal, he should have easily retained the ball, rather than conceding the corner, which ultimately led to their winning goal from the spot.

Didn't stand a chance with either on Sat.
Amazes me how armchair goalkeepers always get irate when a " farthest post from the keeper" header goes in.
They see the keeper desperately scramble and throw a futile dive at a relatively slow ball and think " should of moved quicker" etc etc when these are virtually impossible to cover. Barely a game goes by when Heston doesn't clean catch a ball that many top rank keepers would parry.

This seasons "beach ball" is the most difficult ball to handle in general in history, though outfield players also struggle to keep it down when shooting.

MACCA would like to offer . his opinion.
MACCA would like to place on record, that in his opinion, Tom Heaton could/should have done better with both goals.

A player should never win a header in the 6 yard box...

Both Watford goals were carbon copies of Arsenal goals in the previous away game ( if Lowton would have stuck his boot up, it was arsenal over again )

MACCA would like Tom to catch the ball more often when crosses come in to ease the pressure on the defence.

That save in the 2nd half was amazing, really surprised they didn't make more of it on MOTD .

Southampton nearly cost us 2 points, Spurs I thought his positioning was all wrong for Rose to score, West Ham he fumbled the pen back into Noble's path ( catch or put around the post ) and he didn't cover himself in glory against Swansea either IMO. I'm sure there are more.

He is a fantastic goal keeper, but his errors are not as rare as some people make out.

He makes plenty of saves, some great ones, but that will always be the case if you are facing shot after shot.

The voters/judges must be the same people who thought Gray should have been called up for England...

Lakesclaret, you may have a point. I'm not a professional goalkeeper, but I have been a goalkeeper, albeit at amateur level, for the last twenty-three years.

What I will say is this... if I'd been in that position and got to the ball as quickly as Yom did for the first (so quick that he is over the ball) then even I would be disappointed to see the ball drop over the line. I am damn sure that Tom, with his high standards, will be disappointed with the first goal. It should be said, that this doesn't excuse the poor marking in defence from the initial ball in.

Regardless of the above, Tom is an outstanding goalkeeper, who is having an outstanding season!!!

Gordon Banks never played in The Premier League. Remember, proper football only started in 1992.

NO. . should get back on mission and leave goalkeeper analysis to folk above his pay grade.
Lowton and Keane had the perfect position. one in front and one behind until Matt Lowton decided to go in front of Deeney.

. appreciates Heaton is a very good goalkeeper. He just questions some of the supporters who claim he is never at fault for anything. . accepts that whilst there haven't been any 'Taibi' type goals Heaton has let in, there have been a few times he feels Heaton could have done better - Hull, Arsenal & Watford. He also seems to recall Heaton might have done better with one of the goals at West Brom (and recalls that horrific pass which fortunately didn't lead to a goal in that same game).

I used to think that Heaton and Mee were both pretty good players, but reading various posts on here, I now realise that if only we signed someone competent to replace them, we'd be in the top 4.

He dived too far for the West Ham penalty as it was hit so poor, so he was unable to put it around the post. Very unlucky really.

I just think it's hilarious that Liverpool don't have a goalkeeper ranked in the top 30 of a 20 team division!
