Plastic Clappers at Turf Moor
Plastic Clappers at Turf Moor
The atmosphere at the Walkers stadium was very impressive surely it's just what we need at Turf Moor or maybe just for exclusive use in the Bob Lord , what do other posters think ?

I think we should bring Goal Music back. If it's good enough for the Champions of England....

We could also give out Jeff Hendrick masks to protest against his sending off.

I think dogs or Chico at half time would be better

Or a skydiver to land on the roof of the cricket field end!

Wow guys, all of these sound awesome improvements on what we have. Thanks to the original poster for opening such a serious discussion.
Re: Plastic Clappers at Turf Moor
Flags. We definitely need massive flags behind the goal to wave in the air each time we score.
Re: Plastic Clappers at Turf Moor
I'd prefer giant foam hands personally, if that's an option for the future?

It's all well and good joking about it but one director was pushing for those clappy things earlier this season.

I think Vuvuzelas need bringing back. One free for every kid at the match.Perhaps also music like they do at cricket when a boundary is scored, for every time there is a corner or goal kick.

Didn't a Burnley rattle appear on Coronation Street a while ago.Roy Cropper I think was having problems with bats.He was using it to scare them off.Grimsby Claret wrote:RATTLES i'm old enough to remember them( I'm afraid) in the late sixties i even had one had one.

Re: Plastic Clappers at Turf Moor
Seriously, I think we should have a live Tinned Food Count, performed on a table in the centre circle and with a close-up view on the big screen.
Just imagine the tension and excitement as each food-unit is Counted and the total number is approached!
Besides, how about we have the odd Rovers fan among us at every game just to take the p!ss, like sometimes we have on every thread on here?

Re: Plastic Clappers at Turf Moor
It's a few years ago and Fred Elliott, I say Fred Elliott, loaned him the rattle. David Neilson, the actor who plays Roy Cropper was not happy about it apparently, he wanted a blue and white rattle because he's a big Leicester fan.Jimscho wrote:Didn't a Burnley rattle appear on Coronation Street a while ago.Roy Cropper I think was having problems with bats.He was using it to scare them off.

Re: Plastic Clappers at Turf Moor
I got the answer the wrong way round - it was Roy who loaned the rattle to Fred. Not sure now what wildlife was in Fred's loft but I don't think it was bats.Jimscho wrote:Didn't a Burnley rattle appear on Coronation Street a while ago.Roy Cropper I think was having problems with bats.He was using it to scare them off.

Re: Plastic Clappers at Turf Moor
Get a drummer.
Then we also need to play crowd noise through the speakers at TM to make the atmosphere sound better then it is.
Reading are known for doing this with the speakers, it's also heavily rumoured Liverpool do it too.
Boro used to have a drummer I think, same as Bolton.

Those of us that have been labelled 'Happy Clappers' would object stringently to having to contend with Plastic Clappers who will probably disappear if we were relegated -- unless we put a retainer on them.

Re: Plastic Clappers at Turf Moor
Walking to the Bristol City game I thought I'd run a few rhetorical questions at my Son (he's 17).
"How about bringing back the goal music" - "NO!"
"How about getting a drummer in" "NO!"
"How about some of those plastic blow-up things you bang together" "NO!"
"How about bringing back that 'Burnley Football Club' song they used to play at the end of the promotion season in 2009" "NO!"
"How about bringing back the Pie and Chips Challenge" "YES!"
We both agreed that 'Pie and Chips' should be reinstated! Top drawer half-time entertainment - totally baffling to away fans born south of Watford Gap!

I thought this thread was going to be about people clapping who were only on the Turf because we're in the Premier League.

Provided by and paid for by the club of course and waved in unison for a regulation one minute after the goal is scored - not some crappy, non-corporate, spontaneous, energetic, heartfelt flag waver in the grubby crowd. That wouldn't do would it.NickBFC wrote:Flags. We definitely need massive flags behind the goal to wave in the air each time we score.

Re: Plastic Clappers at Turf Moor
I'd love to know if there have been any complaints about the lack of goal music, this season. I'm yet to see an unhappy child who "loved the goal music", when we score.
Slightly biased perhaps but it seems to have been a resounding success.

How about scantily clad cheerleaders, 18 year old plus, entertaining the troops throughout the match on on the three sides of the ground that they won't risk causing heart failures. Bob Lorders can have the happy clapper things to entertain themselves.

Re: Plastic Clappers at Turf Moor
. thinks at half time there should be kids playing those 5-a-side games across half the pitch. He remembers the excitement in the school the full week leading up to the Saturday when the school team or a local team a few of the lads or lasses played for were going to be playing on The Turf. He recalls even those not playing we're excited for it. He thinks it could perhaps even get a few more coming along to watch.
. appreciates the 5-a-side game would not be brilliant to watch but it gives those kids playing great joy about their 15 minutes of fame.
