Saturday's Football Thread
Re: Saturday's Football Thread
Another couple of decisions gone the way of the bigger team today.
If the decisions were the other way round, I'm sure the 1st goal would have been chalked off, and the defender would have seen a red for that Gibbs challenge!

Gibbs' challenge is a red all day long. Clattenburg got most other things right though.

So just the 2 main BIG decisions wrong then?simonclaret wrote:Gibbs' challenge is a red all day long. Clattenburg got most other things right though.
And by all other decisions right you mean irrelevant things like throw ins and corners or something else?

If you mean the first goal, it didn't look deliberate to me.MACCA wrote:So just the 2 main BIG decisions wrong then?

Surely the tactics have to be different when Sanchez is playing up front to when Giroud is playing there?Dyched wrote:I think it was Merson who said this week that Arsenal look as though they get sent out with the same tactics regardless of the opposition. They look great every 6/7 games against lesser opposition. Today they were poor as they usually are.
As for Hull, does the straight red mean that Clucas misses the games against Us, Leicester and Swansea? That's a massive loss if he does.
Add to that the injuries of Hernandez and Dawson and they"ll do well to keep their form going.
Re: Saturday's Football Thread
Come on Rotherham, Burton, Bristol C, Everton, Stoke, Southampton and finally Man Utd ( muttered under the breath )

If a defender had an arm that high and away from his body and it hit it, then a pen would have been awarded.
Clattenburg has admitted it shouldn't have stood and he made a mistake..

I don't think he has written it down to be honest, but I watched the game, and the sky team informed Wenger of it during the post match interview.simonclaret wrote:Nah.

The Sky team? Were they there? Who knows what he's said? He may have expressed sympathy with them at the unfortunate nature of the goal but handball has to be deliberate, i didn't think it was, the linesman didn't and most pundits I've heard since didn't, including Howard Webb.MACCA wrote:I don't think he has written it down to be honest, but I watched the game, and the sky team informed Wenger of it during the post match interview.
