Marcus Rashford
Question marks over the future of both Rashford and Martial at United apparently. Dont personally think either will leave but if they were to and we stay up both Rashford and us could do worse than a season long loan.
If Gray was to leave he would be a perfect ready made replacement. Expeeience of the league and goals in huge games. Has the pace, compsure and finishing. People criticise our uae of loans but Keane, Trippier and Mee and historically Cahill show that we can and do develop young English Potential if they are prepared to work.
Always comes accross as a good character, wouldnt have to move and Im sure Keane could sell the club to him.

Re: Marcus Rashford
Too big and too expensive for us I think.
I'd love him here, but we would be waaaaaaaay down in the queue for this lad.
As a replacement for gray, how about Dwain chambers or Tyson gay??? They're quick.

Re: Marcus Rashford
On a serious note though we shouldnt undersell ourselves. The players now look at the league as much as the team. Benteke didnt even know who he signed for and wilshere went to bournemouth.
We have turned two ex united youth players into england squad regulars.

Re: Marcus Rashford
Thats a very fair point, but other than the fact we are hardly an excellent geographical draw, unless Utd were happy to pay part of his wages, that may be too much for us to overcome.
Really would love him to play for us tho... he's dynamite.

I'd rather have Joyrod back, who appears to be slipping down the pecking order a bit at the saints.

Isn't Rashford on about £5k a week i'm sure we can stretch to that.bobinho wrote:Thats a very fair point, but other than the fact we are hardly an excellent geographical draw, unless Utd were happy to pay part of his wages, that may be too much for us to overcome.

That WOULD surprise me. In that case, I think we could just about afford that.

I think he's on a little more then that.bartons baggage wrote:Isn't Rashford on about £5k a week i'm sure we can stretch to that.
Was rumoured to be on £7.5k a week and it jumped to £25k a week last summer.
He's tied down until 2019/20 so a loan out somewhere may happen.
Issue we have is Dyche is probably getting known for not playing loanees as first choice if his own players are fit.
Re: Marcus Rashford
Get Danny Ings back as well and pay £100k per week to keep them on the treatment table , good thinking!summitclaret wrote:I'd rather have Joyrod back, who appears to be slipping down the pecking order a bit at the saints.

Re: Marcus Rashford
I know he's one of our own but I would rather have Shane Long. As quick and as direct as Gray but puts away the chances - Gray hasn't learnt that trick yet.summitclaret wrote:I'd rather have Joyrod back, who appears to be slipping down the pecking order a bit at the saints.

Joyrod up top with Bendycock, would be potent.summitclaret wrote:I'd rather have Joyrod back, who appears to be slipping down the pecking order a bit at the saints.

I would have loved Jayrod back at the beginning of this season. The club has made such huge strides forward this last 6 months, that I really could not see him getting a game here.
Jay is also obviously injury prone, we would be just another convalescent home for him.

Nothing to suggest he is. But hes only one year left and cant ser us letting him run it down.lrac wrote:why is gray leaving ?
Also we do need more firepower. Im convinced Grays got the potential. But we can always improve.
Re: Marcus Rashford
Gray has scored twice as many PL goals as Shane Long this season.IWOODLOVETT wrote:I know he's one of our own but I would rather have Shane Long. As quick and as direct as Gray but puts away the chances - Gray hasn't learnt that trick yet.

Re: Marcus Rashford
Maybe, but I would always back Long ahead of Andre in one on one situations. Southampton have had more striker options with Charlie, Jay etc. so Long has been used as an impact sub and has still scored at a rate of approx 1 in 2.Tall Paul wrote:Gray has scored twice as many PL goals as Shane Long this season.
Re: Marcus Rashford
I would be very surprised if Gray left (assuming we stay up). There is a more to come from him, he's still developing at this level and I sincerely hope we can keep him. I keep saying bringing in more quality that can provide the right kind of service and he will score a lot of goals.

I don't think we should take any players on loan. We're past that. Why take somebody else's problem, put them through the Dyche boot camp, and send them back. Full-time signings, or nothing, I say.

And remember the #1Dyche mantra. Stay loyal to your own.
