One of those days where you can't see us winning another point, yet know we will.

The wide players were woeful, no stretching the pitch, no drawing them out, no pace, no skill. Lincoln sat in and played for the draw, we couldn't combat it and got hit with a late sucker punch. I felt the attitude stank (Dyche's really, which rubs off on the players) but I fear for us playing home or away against those tactics against any opposition. We can't open sides up who sit in.

Not much more to say really.

Heaton (5) - Started like someone who didn't think he'd be starting until late on.
Darikwa (4) - If PNE are still interested I'll buy his ticket for the 152 myself. Not even close to good enough.
Keane (5) - A lot less assured looking than recently.
Tarkowski (4) - Started OK, one of few to get a first-half pass-mark, poor after the break.
Flanagan (3) - A liability on the right and a bottle-job on the left. Send him back Monday morning.
Arfield (4) - Always showed for it but the execution was invariably woeful.
Westwood (4) - Lightweight and unambitious. Not bad at passing it backwards, mind.
Barton (4) - One of very few (i.e. about three players) who looked up for it first half. Head went in the second.
Gudmundsson (n/a) - Looking as good as anyone until being hoofed out of the game.
Vokes (4) - Too soft. Needed to make a lot more of his physical attributes.
Gray (3) - Worryingly reminiscent of John Francis today. Fast, powerful, touch of an elephant and no composure at all.

Boyd (3) - Still awaiting definitive confirmation that he actually came on today.
Barnes - should have been on a hell of a lot earlier. About 12:30pm, in fact.

Absolutely f******* fuming at that.

Burnley today were a team showing every sign of believing its own press. It was obvious Lincoln were going to make it a physical battle; thing is, we used to win those more often than not. Today we didn't look up to it and worse, we didn't look up for it. Dyche's inability/unwillingness to change it around didn't reflect well on him either; we offered naff-all but long-ball for way, way too long today with no attempt to try and make our allegedly superior quality tell.

No redeeming features whatsoever and there are some players whose Burnley careers (at least as starters) could have ended today. Wouldn't be fussed not to see Boyd again, Arfield should be cover now and nothing more, Darikwa's never been good enough and don't get me started on that utter impostor Flanagan. Massive reaction required against Hull next Saturday.

Some of the scores are just plain dumb. Some people should walk away from the ground, sit down and chill before going on-line. OK we were not at the races today but to keep on playing the same way and expecting a different outcome is bordering on insanity and SD takes most of the blame from me.

Heaton 6 Not a lot to do TBH but his kicking was poor. Thought Pope would have been between the sticks anyway.
Darikwa 7 Decent match in many ways I just wish he would have the confidence to take people on because he had the beating of their full back and should have run at him more often.
Keane 6 OK
Tarkowski 7 MOM This guy looks class IMHO (The only worrying thing is that we also lost to Accy when he started so is he a Jinx??)
Flanagan 4 A weak link.
Arfield 5 Not Scotties best match.
Westwood 5 I'll give him the benefit of the doubt as he's new.
Barton 6 Why oh why get into a tangle with that tub of lard? Use your brains for once.
Gudmundsson n/a Bad challenge took him out. I personally think the game changed when he went off as he looked sharp.
Vokes 5 Umm??
Gray 4 Umm? Was he interested today? First touch of a carthorse and should learn to go down when tugged. Their CB could have seen red.

Boyd 5 Huffed and puffed with no end result.

Overall a disappointing result. They dragged us down to their level and beat us with experience.

Haven't been on here for a while after certain posters hammered me for saying Dyche was out of his depth. That was my opinion then but it seems unless you agree with the majority you OPINION is worthless.
Heaton 5 Not a lot to do but his kicking is awful
Darikwa 3 If he is our back up right back then god help us.
Flanagan 3 Awful
Tarks 5 poor but when your covering for them full backs what do you expect
Keane 5 as above
Arfield 3 Woeful.said it before league 1 at best
Barton 6 the only one who looked interested and up for it.
Westwood 4 pass it back and sideways
Boyd 3 run and run and run but do not else
Vokes 3 didn't win a header all game
Gray 3 his bird is in America so gonna sulk all day.2nd touch is a tackle
Subs not on long enough
Dyche 3.should have enough to beat Lincoln with reserves
Hopefully we have seen the last of Darikwa,Flanagan and Arfield who should never wear a Burnley shirt again. We have zero flare or creativity and the defend, defend, defend and hoof it forward only gets you so far. Before I get slated it has worked so far and may well keep us up but if we want to progress the manager has to change a bit.Millions need spending on a quality centre forward, right mid and centre mid next season.

Only play worth rating is Darikwa (7).

Vokes - by far the worst performance in a claret shirt. Literally might as well have not turned up. We played with ten men for an hour.

Flanagan - not really sure why he is still at the club.

I think the slamming of Gray is a little harsh when his strike partner was worse than useless and the rest of the midfield couldn't pass further ten yards.

Oh well it's given a couple of squad players a run out.

I never thought I would witness another Wimbledon but I just did. We were just beaten comprehensively by a pub team. We were outfought outplayed and out thought. It was total embarrassment

Heaton 3
Darikwa 4. No idea where 7's are coming from
Turks 4
Keane 5 mom
Flanagan 3. Liverpool are taking the ****
Boyd 3 looked unprepared to play
Barton 4 decent first half the lost the plot
Westwood 3 anonymous. Hope he's on loan
Airfield 3 pathetic
Vokes 3 shocking
Gray 3 clueless

Now the good news

Lowton Ward Hendricks Brady and Mee look like world beaters in comparison to that shower who embarrassed us today.

And finally Dyche tactics today 0

Heaton 6 (only really had to kick it and couldn't do that today)
Derek 7
Keane 6 (our Rolls Royce really struggled against non league opposition)
Tarks 6 (as above, but not yet a Rolls Royce)
Flanagan 4 (just maybe he's not comfortable on the left so it may be unfair, but he's pants!)
Barton 7 (showed fight, but got all het up about some of their over physicality and lost sight of the plot for the first time in a Claret shirt!)
Westwood 5
Arfield 4 (saw loads of the ball, but couldn't keep it under control, never mind pass it!)
JBG 7 (I'm marking him because I thought he looked good and the pick of the 22 until cropped and went off - shame)
Vokes 5 (A million mis timed jumps and not 1 header won. Only to be expected against massive, non league defenders who make a living heading long high balls away tbh! Cue Andre....)
Gray 4 (All set for a smart, sharp, quick CF to dance through and round the big numb part time defenders.....Oh dear!!!)
Boyd 4
Barnes N/A

A total embarrassment tbh. We have to be immensely proud of this team/squad and this manager and what they have achieved, but today they were garbage to a man. We were out muscled and out "harried" and basically outplayed at our own game which over 3/4 seasons we have literally copyrighted. We played right into their hands and the most obvious way to unlock a team like Lincoln is by quick feet on the floor. And that means Andre who unfortunately looked more non league than non league today. Best team won.

Seen a few 2-bit sports news sites are trying to make something if this.

Unfortunately for them the video they use shows him spitting but nowhere near a Lincoln player.

Heaton 3 kicking awful, commanding of box awful.
Darikwa 3 awful
Keane 6
Tarkowski 5
Flanagan 3 because weirdly the minimum is a 3. Being honest he's not much better than Brian Easton is he. Whatever he had at Liverpool is long gone.
Arfield 3 embarrassing
Westwood 4 about as bad as he was good last week
Barton 6 possibly our best player apart from trying to get involved with that big lad
Gudmundsson 4 unlucky with injuries
Vokes 4 didn't offer much
Gray 3 saved from being the worst player on the pitch by our left back

Boyd 3 did he come on?

I'm going against my mantra of not to make knee jerk posts, but it's going to be difficult to get this out of the system. We still bring up Wimbledon and the name and occasion still makes me shudder 42 year on. If it's any consolation to this present group of players once the dust has settled, the Wimbledon defeat will still be the bigger shock (just) purely because quite frankly they were a better footballing side than the present. Hankin and Fletcher for Vokes and Barnes anyone.
Heaton - 6-Not a great deal to do but his distribution was woeful again.
Darikwa - 4
Keane - 6 Partly to blame for Lincoln's goal.
Tarkowski - 8*-One of the few players that looked PL class on the day.
Flanagan - 3 In fairness to the lad he's been given a poor ride and he's no left back for me.
Arfield - 3 Gordon Strachan got it right for me.
Westwood - 4 The lads been on a downward spiral at Villa and I hope its not going to continue but he looked anonymous.
Barton - 6 Not one of his better 2nd halves but he kept going.
Gudmundsson - 6
Gray - 3
Vokes - 4

Boyd - 6-Felt for Georgie as I feel his offence game has been greatly subdued by the role he's been given.
Barnes-6 things did improve when he came on but why leave it so late?

Don't really agree with all the marks of 3 but it's all down to opinion.but why after 45 minutes of hoofball do we do the same for the next 45 minutes.poor tactics today when probably one bit of footballing ability would have won the game

Surprised no-one has given Heaton an extra mark for the way he skinned his man in front of the longside in added time.
Very glum tonight after that embarrassing horror show.

Heaton - 4 - Needed him to set a tone in terms how we played football today. He failed to do that. Racing about to belt the ball long, imprecisely, in the hope our front 2 can isolate the two centre halves and make the bits and pieces bounce for us is a dubious tactic at the best of times, it was completely the wrong one today and the captain and goalkeeper needed to get us playing from deep in a calmer and more considered manner.

Darikwa - 5 - Two incisive bits of attacking play that were probably the best we produced all day, but in everything else he did he was awful. Questionable defensively and with distribution of the worst order.

Flanagan - 3 - The boy is regressing as the season goes on unfortunately.

Keane - 6 - Thought he dealt fairly well with the direct threat Lincoln offered.

Tarkowski - 5 - See Keane, but his early obsession with the hollywood pass gave Lincoln unnecessary encouragement.

Barton - 5- Decent in the first half, awful in the second when he gor dragged into a personal battle he didn't need to have, and completely lost his focus on the game.

Westwood - 4 - Bullied out of it until he gained a sense of urgency in the final 15 minutes.

Arfield - 5 - Spent the first half making the runs that really troubled Lincoln, from the left flank into the centre. Nothing ever really came off for him, though.

Gudmundsson - 6 - Looked a threat until he had to come off, and I suspect that was a key turning point in the game.

Vokes - 5 - Was always going to lose the majority of headers, which made the decision of Heaton and others to persist in wellying the ball in his direction all the more bizarre, but his use of the ball on the deck wasn't as good as it might have been.

Gray - 4 - Should have done better with a couple of sights of goal, but his touch and link up play were heavy all day.

Boyd - 4 - Rarely the sort of game in which he comes into his own, and he didn't.

An unmitigatedly awful performance and a very bad result. Whether it is disastrous depends on how we react in the next few away games. 30 points and a 5th round FA cup exit is in itself a perfectly satisfactory outcome at this point in this season. We need to keep things in that perspective.

Our counter-punching style was never well suited to today's task, and after losing Gudmundsson, our lack of craft in the final third was one of a number of problems in an unbalanced team set-up. The selection of Flanagan at left back left us with no ability to stretch Lincoln down that flank, whilst Westwood and Barton, both fairly diminutive holding players with minimal forward ambition, were overwhelmed by a Lincoln central midfield committed to pressing up on Burnley, leaving the front two way more isolated than they ought to have been against a team as modest as Lincoln - not helped by Barton's failure to keep his focus on winning the game. I said after 60 minutes that moving Arfield into the centre to give us more go-forward in that area, with Barnes picking up on the left, and bringing Ward on at left back, would have made us more balanced and I still think that would have equipped us to go on and win the game. But we'll never know.

Heaton 7 Quiet game but not his fault. Blocked by his own players for the goal.
Darikwa 5 Shackled I felt, but always looks weak at the back.
Flanagan 4 Plays on the wrong side, but still quite poor. I expected better from him this year.
Keane 6 Not commanding enough, but perhaps because of where the ball was made useful challenges.
Tarkowski 7 Did okay today. Not as much of a tank as he normally is, but cleared his line and quite composed.
Airfield 4 Poor....again. I like him too which means I don't like scoring him low.
Barton 6 Got stuck in. Aside from the embarrassing drop he put up with some physicality from Rhead and others. Elbows etc.
Westwood 6 I thought he did okay actually. Made some decent passes.
Boyd 5 Worked hard, but not as hard as usual. Not as quick to the ball.
Gray 4 Touch like an elephant (Please spend time with Barnes) but balls to him were poor as usual.
Vokes 4 Won next to nothing.

Barnes 7 Tried harder than most, and his touch is much better than the other strikers.

THOUGHTS: Ward and Lowton are by FAR the better options for full backs. We have some serious investment to make in the summer if we stay up. Maybe £40-50m ish to spend on the squad to compete and remove excess. The markets gone mad, but beyond 12-13 players we still have issues.

Heaton 5. Didn't distinguish himself for their goal and his distribution was off key again
Darikwa 6*. Can't understand the 3's, I thought he looked ok and at least put a shift in
Keane 6. Not a 25 million center back on this showing
Tarkowski 5. Not the Beckenbeur today and could have been sent off.
Flanagan 3. I was really pleased when we signed this lad but we need to move him on. Should have been sent off.
Arfield 4. No creativity
Barton 5. One mark off for theatrics and another for losing his head
Westwood 4. James O'Connor reincarnated
Boyd 4. No creativity.
Vokes 4. Not prepared for the physicality against this kind of opposition. Nice lad but a bit of a mard arse reeally.
Gray 3. Ball control non-existant. Shooting wayward. Whats new?

Barnes 5. Should have come on earlier for Gray.

Heaton 5 captain and therefore responsible
Darikwa 3 hopefully never to be seen in a Claret shirt again.
Keane 6 decent
Tarkowski 7 looks a great player.
Flanagan 4 almost as bad as Darikwa.
Westwood 4 should have been bossing a non league team.
Barton 4 a day to forget.
Arfield 3 offered absolutely nothing
Vokes 3 chocolate fireguard
Gray 3 looked like a non league player.
Boyd 3 nothing. At all.
Barnes 6 about 20 minutes late in coming on.

Awful day.

Never down one of these before but i am that mad so i will.

Heaton 4 kicking apalling and didn't command his area
Darikwa 5 Not good enough but did ok
Flanagan 3 absolute disgrace should never play again
Keane 5 Dealt with their threat apart from the winner
Tarka 6 Did ok against the lump
Boyd 5 offered nothing
scotty 5 ditto
joey 6 only 1 up for the fight but lost his cool
westwood 4 was meant to get us passing and didn't
gray 4 his first touch is terrible
vokes 3 needs to watch their no 9 so see how a target man plays.

Dyche 3 wrong team and didn't try to change it.

Heaton 5- kicking poor of late and got to take part of blame for goal being so far behind line.
Darikwa 6- doesn't give the impression of being a comfortable defender. However had some bright spots and only person defending in last 5 mins.
Flannagan 3- out fought, out skilled and out of his depth scouse he maybe but no cafu.
Keane 5- could have had a penalty when lincoln defender grabbed him by his neck on corner. Wasn't commanding on set piece for Lincoln goal.
Tarkowski 6- started well but defending looked shaky at times.
Westwood 4- bystander for large parts.
Barton 5- lost his composure and showed signs of the bad old joey. Hopefully like the result a blip.
Arfield 5- what he tried didn't come off but he didn't hide.
Boyd 3- so much part of our success but today didn't really get involved on or off the ball. Unlike him
Vokes 5- lincoln didn't give him a sniff apart from first half chance he should have done better with.
Gray 4- should have done better with two chances. First touch is poor and not sure this can be improved.
Gudmondson n/a. Worrying that he always gets injured. Looks lightweight

Flanagan 3
Tarkowski 5
Keane 5
Barton 5
Arfield 3
Westwood 4
Boyd 3
Vokes 3
Gray 3

Woeful from 1st minute to last. Knew we were in for a long afternoon when some players decided to think they were better than they are and doing little flicks in the first few minutes. A truly horrible afternoon all round and showed our reserve players aren't really as good as some like to make out.

Hopefully we will bounce back next week.

You'd have to analyse the trajectory of the saliva so yes its inconclusive to be certain but certainly not a good idea to be spitting in close proximity with a player decked. It will blow over i think.

Heaton 6 nothing to do
Flanagan 4 wow, 3rd preformance I've seen where he looks league 1 at best
Tarkowski 5 sloppy
Keane 6
Darikwa 5 didon't find 1 positive cross or ball
Boyd 5 ran and that's it. Nothing going forward of note... again
Barton 5 silly and looked angry. Played into their hands
Westwood 6 average. Got the ball and moved it 10 yards
Arfield 4 poor first, second and 3rd touch...
Vokes 5 won nothing all day. Rightly hooked.
Gray 3 worst preformance from a Burnley forward since Nathan Peel. Couldn't control, shoot or even exicuted a 10 yard pass. Looked like he couldn't be arsed.

Barnes 6

Dyche 3 either he hasn't planned for Lincoln and thought we would breeze through, or most players didn't do as he as asked. Interesting post match interview coming up.

Rubbish display against a very limited opposition that we should have beaten easily. Some of the players looked to be still basking in the glory of the Chelsea game. I have no idea what tactics we started the game with but it very quickly turned into a competition to see if we could be more non-league than them.

Heaton - 5 Extra point for being our most creative looking forward player.
Darikwa - 5 - In the 2 minutes of the 97 where we decided to play football, he at least seemed to be part of it.
Keane - 4
Tarkowski - 5
Flanagan - 3
Arfield - 3
Westwood - 4 - lightweight
Barton - 3 -Brainless. Decided to chase Tubby McLard round the field for most of the game to demonstrate how hard he is rather than play football
Gudmundsson - 5
Gray - 3 - utterly, utterly abject.
Vokes - 3 - disinterested

Boyd - 4

Hopefully Sean will print off all these ratings and put them on the dressing room wall at Hull. By the way Hull are vastly improved under the new manager ( even with the injuries)

Couldn't make the live match but from MOTD Darikwa looked our best player by far. I think he could make an excellent attacking right midfielder with the right coach and a lot of hard work.

Darikwa 7
All the rest 5
