Lincoln
Unbelievable result by the Imps,I would like to thank the hospitality shown by Burnley football club and their supporters to us,I have to say I was disappointed in Joey Barton lost his rag diving and scratching what a big girls blouse, thought he was lucky to stay on the pitch, I wish Burnley all the best and good luck for the rest of the season.
Don't worry about Barton,Rheady will let him out of his pocket when he gets back to Lincoln

Re: Lincoln
Congratulations mate, thought your boys gave everything. Obvs disappointed with my team, but looking at it as a football fan it is pretty special. Lincoln totally deserved the win - hope you get an amazing draw in the QUARTER FINAL!!!! Re: Lincoln
Congratulations mate..thoroughly deserved. A shocking no show from us. Totally out of character this season.
The first player to get under Bartons skin..however after being cleaned out early on by Rheads elbow and the refs failure to award anything..it was always a worry that he would seek retribution. It set the tone for what followed unfortunately.

Re: Lincoln
sorry imp, we couldn't care less. it is patronising to dismiss your win, but ultimately, we have bigger fish to fry.
Your coaches looked suitably impressed as did your fans, in the scheme of things the cup is irrelevant. You beat a disinterested Burnley.

Re: Lincoln
No matter how well or badly we played it was a fantastic performance and result for Lincoln and one they thoroughly deserved. In reality, our development squad should be able to beat your first XI due to the gap between the leagues, but you came to our back yard and made a strong lineup look bad.
Well done and good luck in the cup and in your fight to get back into the Football League.

Re: Lincoln
I prefer to see it from a different angle.
There is a lot of woe and over-reaction on here and i can understand that totally. However, I prefer to see the bigger picture. As much as a good cup run would have been nice we need to look at the bigger picture and look at where we are. Way beyond expectations.
I thought I would be a lot more bothered than I am now that I have had time to calm down. I think if we were struggling in the league and looking to gain some morale than this would hurt a lot more. We have a lot to look forward to though.
I looked across at the Lincoln fans celebrating and a small part of me smiled. The majority of their fans would not have been expecting to turn us over and were happy to experience the day. It reminded me of our past and visiting the bigger grounds as a big underdog. Put simply..i knew how they were feeling just from being a football fan. We didn't win at Old Trafford but the feeling was similar although understandably more diluted. I remember how i felt when we beat Derby all those years ago.
It really isn't the end of the world that some on here would have you believe. Worrying from a lack of squad depth point of view but that's about it.

Re: Lincoln
Great win for Lincoln and thoroughly deserved, all the best in the Quarter Finals.
1 thing that has slightly annoyed me after the game on social media etc is that, quite rightly, Barton has been getting lots of stick for he pathetic fall to the floor pretending to have been elbowed but nothing is being said about the Lincoln player who did the same thing which was equally as embarrassing.

Re: Lincoln
As a season ticket holder now living in Lincoln and having watched their previous cup games v Brighton,Ipswich and Oldham plus a few league gamesI was expecting a tough game
The Cowley brothers have done a great job bringing in the likes of Raggett and Woodyard to the squad and have developed a very hard to beat squad
Hope they win the League as that has to be their main aim as failing to do so could mean several players leaving to League 1 clubs for more money in the close season
Theo Robinson has already been snapped up by Southend in the January window
Hope they achieve promotion and a trip to Wembley

Well done lads
I'm gutted that we didn't turn up, but the money and the prestige you lot will get for this is great for you.
Hope you get a great tie in the next round.

Re: Lincoln
It was like someone had invented a time machine and we were back in the old 4th Division. It was a game in which personal incidents between players were more memorable than the football.
It was infuriating and as unconventional-a-spectacle as I've witnessed in years. Imps defended well, passed it better, bullied us and took the late chance.
Hope you get Millwall (that's actually a compliment btw

Re: Lincoln
Fair result in the end, we didn't show up at all. Let Lincoln have their moment in the sun - lets face it, they might get into the league, but if this managment team are anything beyond half cocked they'll be off to bigger things and Lincoln will remain at their historical level. We've gone out this season but in reality, the chances of us reaching the 6th round next season are greater than Lincoln getting there again in the next 100 years.

Re: Lincoln
You deserved it. Your fans made some good noise. Dont think either side played well in a footballing sense but given you are 4 leagues below us it says more about our performance than yours.
Barton was disappointing but thats the first time in 50 games hes done that. You riled him and he fell for it.
We werent at our best. Only Darikwa, Keane and Tarkowski came away with any credit. Heaton didnt have much to do so cant criticise him.
We missed JBG When he went off injured. Our only quick, direct and skilful midfielder.
We were on the back foot. Having so many away fans definitely helped you as fortress Turf Moor was quietened. This is exactly why we shouldnt have given more tickets away than we had to (from a selfish perspective.)
Good luck to Lincoln. Hope you get a good draw in the next round. Gutted as a Burnley fan as I love the competition but thats the magic of the cup.
Hopefully the extra fans you took yesterday and watched at home will start to become regular supporters for you.
Good luck in league and cup for the rest season.
